The BCC was Founded for the Sole Purpose to Network Cyclists and Build Community Through Cycling.
Cycling in the summer can be about casual riding, sprinting, spinning, big-ring hammerfests or what ever your chosen type of riding is. The BCC was founded for the Sole Purpose to Network Cyclists. It has grown into a successful club which accommodates Riders at almost all skill/fitness levels. Everyone should be able to participate and have fun @ their respective levels.
BCC Fundamentals/Values:
1. Safety First - Rides/Routes are designed with Riders in Mind. Departure times are early because it helps minimize traffic(Cars/People) resulting less distractions.
2. Riding Etiquette - All Members are aware of other members safety and enjoyment. Signaling is a Must and Staying within One Lane on a Double Lane Road(4 or More Riders) and Single File on a One Lane Road.
3. Members Input - Members are encouraged be involved and help host rides. The more the better. It gives New Members the chance to choose Rides they want to do and ultimately gets you on your bike more!
4. Good Times - The BCC is not just a cycling club. It's a bunch of people that like to have fun! There will be Planned Trips, Events etc. throughout the season. We will always have our "Beer Nights"!

Hey all,
Finally had a moment to do a short write up about our trip to Hawaii. The pictures pretty much say it all, but in short, not a bad day under 25 degrees, challenging, amazing views!
If you haven't gone, you gotta go.…

Bucket list - a list of things to do before you die!
While I don't plan to kick the bucket any time soon, I am going to be able to cross an opportunity off my list. In May of this year I am venturing down to California to take part in the Amgen Tour of California. What do I mean take part? Well hard to define this adventure as a race but it is more than an etape.
On sunday May 13th, I will toe the "starting line" in Santa Rosa for a 7 day tour experience - riding over 750 miles…

So we had a road ride planned thursday morning and it got really cold wednesday night. Instead of cancelling, Paul suggested to take it into don trails. What a great idea. Paul texted me that he was having derailleur "issues" 8 am, so it ended up being Ian M. and Jono P who joined me for this sunny day winter trail fest. Not many people out there, even the dog walkers and cross country runners stayed in.
Conditions were excellent. Frozen ground is way better to ride on than…

Last sunday before christmas ride. Great turnout, amazingly nobody got scared away by last weeks frigid temperatures. Still sub zero, but a very benign wind chill factor this sunday. Charles Jeff Ian Joe and Paul M came out, thank you all. I was not expecting to return and be as exhausted as I am as I type this, since we aren`t supposed to sprint all the way down Kingston rd. as we did, this time of the year. But I guess Jeff was late for a a brunch date and we all tried to hang on. We did…

Hannah and I abruptly relocated to Nova Scotia in early December. It was something we always planned to do eventually, as I grew up here in Halifax, and Hannah has roots in NS, too. It is easy to become complacent making these longer term goals a reality (especially when it means leaving the BCC and great friends). However, often unexpected incidents and accidents can make you reflect, and be the catalyst for change, or living how you want to live. Unfortunately for us, the catalyst that…
