Date – May 2015 (exact dates to be determined by February 2015)
Location – southern province of Peloponnese, Greece. Our home base will in the Argolic Gulf town of Tolo just a short 15min drive from the city of Nafplio.
Travelling under your own effort with all senses awake we will embark on an 11 day riding journey exploring the southern Greek province of Peloponnese.
Each day will begin and end from the comfort and familiar surroundings of the 4star King Minos hotel in the gorgeous seaside town of Tolo. Every room will enjoy a stunning direct south ocean view of the Argolic Gulf – breathtaking I assure.
To describe the skill level required for the trip, I would have to say you must be an ‘enthusiast’ able to maintain a minimum average speed between 25km/hr to 29km/hr. This is not intended to be a race to the finish but an organized group ride. Some sections will be very challenging such as a long 10-13km switchback mountain pass climb while other days that are relatively flat with very few climbs.
Distances will vary from 70km round trip to approximately 160km so make sure you have put in the miles and trained well for the exciting journey!
There will be plenty of opportunity for rest breaks along the way and will indeed be assessed as the group moves along. Safety is paramount and will be the guide to all decisions.
The draft itinerary below lists the locations, maps and mileage for each day. Keep in mind that if faced with an issue or challenge, the routes may change without notice.
