I wanted to Organize a BCC Club Ride(Must be a Member and have Signed Waiver and Paid Membership) that had our families meet us at the destination for a BBQ and Winery Tour.
How it would work:
BCC Riders Leave at the Crack of Dawn(Like Usual) end up in Jordan at the Upper Canada Cheese Company. Families would leave later and meet riders HERE(Upper Canada Cheese Company). We all Indulge in a BBQ and have Wine and Cheese!
Here are the FOOD Details:
$25 Per Person(1 Burger)/$30 Per Person(2 Burgers)
1 Local Burger with Smoked Comfort Cream on a Caramelized Onion Bun
1 Serving local Ice cream (see below)
Use of our picnic area, including field for Childrens games
Tent - as you saw
1 staff member to co ordinate
Complimentary Cheese tasting
Toute Sweet brings her cart and will mix to order. She will have 2 flavours (your choice, we can provide the selection to choose from) and with these two flavours, she will bring 4 add ins to compliment - say grilled peaches with Niagara ice wine - or raspberries with sparking cave springs and choc chunks...or just kid friendly ones....
Here are Route Options(By Paul van Dongen & DY):
1. LONG(Plus Hills) - 175kms
2. MED(No Rattlesnake) - 160kms
3. SHORT(Along the Lake) - 140kms
4. Short Course 90km
Flat as a pancake and 90k from MC Pk. Add 20 from L&L and that's 110... totally doable.
I've done it before. It goes along Lakeshore to Burlington (same as Short Option), then left and across the lift bridge, then follows the Waterfront Trail, which is very well marked. It avoids the Service Roads when it can, which is why it seems a tad convoluted, but it really is a no-brainer. At Beamsville it goes over the bridge then hooks up with Green Lane, meeting up with everyone else.
DATE: Sunday August 30th 2009 - ALL DAY EVENT
There will be a Lake Route(Directly there).... In the Process of designing it. Not as scenic but shorter. Also, if you plan on going, but are not sure of a way back, I will be starting to ASK Members how much extra room they have....
