Hi QB,

Coincidentally enough, I am in the market for a cyclocross bike! Would you be interested in a different buyer? :) A 56cm frame would be perfect. 58cm might be a bit on the tall side.

Thanks,

Paul

Of course, you can ride it and figure out whether it is the right fit. Let me know. I will take some pictures on the weekend and give you all of the specs.

Thanks QB, that would be great. I fear that this is probably already a no-go because you're so much taller than me!

Paul, from bottom bracket to top of the top tube it is 56.4cm and the top tube is 57.6cm
It is 105 grouppo, and I currently have eggbeaters on there. We could talk about wheels as I have mixed and matched. Stock kona saddle.
Sorry about the photos, I have better on my phone that I can send.

Thanks a bunch for posting this. The measurements you've shown me appear to be for a 58cm frame. I kind of expected this given you're so tall. I want to save you time overall and just accept that I'm definitely too short for the bike (mostly because of the top tube length since I have a shorter torso). :( Anyway, sorry to put you through the trouble... There have to be other, taller members interested in such a sweet bike, right?

My crappy old mountain bike decided to run away from home yesterday(with someone's help). I was using it for family rides and bad weather commutes.

If anyone has an old bike they can sell fairly soon - I'm interested. Size is about 56 cm, although I'm flexible on that. I don't really care if it's a mountain bike, but I would like something that has a quick-release seat so I can get the extra wheel/tag-along on and off fairly easily. Something comfortable would be nice.

Hiya.

I am looking for a cheap fixed hub rear wheel.

Figured I would try out the fixed gear experience but am not sold yet so don't want to invest tons in the experiment. Anyone have a fixie rear wheel taking up space that they can part with?

Should be 120mm spacing.

Thanks,
David

thanks Paul, no issues from my end. It just means my n+1 number remains at 5!!

If anyone's interested in a great mountain bike for smaller riders (5'2 to 5'8 or so) my Tomac is up for sale again.  See the posting from July.  Reasonable offers entertained.  My wife would love to have the extra storage!!

Funny Evan, not sure how she could be complaining about storage. Looks like a piece of art at the foot of the stairs. What else would you put there?

Exactly.  She just doesn't understand.

Building a custom steel CX-MTN bike. I need everything but the frame, wheels and seat. I'm looking for:

  • a 27.2 mm seat post
  • a straight handle bar
  • MTN Bike indexed gear shifters (how many gears? I dunno I need help. HELP!); derailleurs, double front chain ring, crank; pedals; can I use my road bike ultegra cassette? I guess that is one decision the shifters, chain-ring, cassette
  • Cantilever brakes, front and back
  • Therapy - Yes I may not know what I am doing or talking about in all of the above
