Just putting the feelers out on this one. Let me know by posting a comment. Thanks, D.
Beginners Course Outline -

Me too Dan. For sure the advanced course, but there is some overlap with stuff I should know, and don't, from the beginner list...

I've got my old steel beater that I have to rebuild. I was planning on doing it later on, (it's my rainy day commuter) but it would be an excellent ride to lean this stuff on. (Mostly since I don't mind demo'ing with it, it is steel it can take some abuse.)
I could push all my plans of a rebuild forward, the items I need to do:
* strip to frame (it's got a threaded headset so there's very little value for most people in watching the removal and re-greasing of the headset). But the rest of the stripping is all modern Shimano, Ultegra 6600 actually.
* wash frame (I was thinking of getting Biseagal to sandblast and repaint so probably do the above on a Saturday afternoon, and then do the rebuild the following Saturday).
* new drive train (Shimano Dura-Ace 7900) new shifters (Sram Red, Red rear deraileur, need to source a FD that will fit my seat post tube) same Ultegra Brakes, but new pads
* new cables (really need new cables really, really badly.)
* new tape (duh!)
Ohhh, almost forgot, anyone got a spare pair of Italian Cups? (Shouldda seen the look the guy at the Co-op gave me when I asked for Italian Cups.) ;) But really, need to replace the BB too, obviously.
Damnit, forgot I need a new chain too.
Tyres... right, will replace those as well. :P (The wheels are Mavic Aksium clinchers).
Like I said, I was planning on doing this myself, likely in my bike room, or the back yard I suppose, but I'd be happy to show other people how and all that good stuff, if anyone is interested?
