Non Gender Specific Inspiration:

This has been out for at least a year now, but I just came across this today while looking through Men's Journal. It's the Lunocet fin so you can swim like a mermaid/merman. Although it doesn't have two wheels and a seat, check out where you put your feet!

Is there an option to use other cleats like Look or Speedyplay? And after how many fin flaps should you replace the cleats on this thing?

Here's a YouTube video of it.
I cannot seem to start a discussion thread, so I'll just drop this one here. Its something Lesley dug up, I guess it should go under cool rides that Michael wants to do (If only I didn't have this pesky day job.)

Focus Bikes... Lightweight's Full Carbon Rear Derailleur($1200)
$1200 for a derailleur? That's nuts! For that amount of money, it had better be able to figure out the perfect gear combination and shift automatically.

Sorry, Dan - won't be ordering one of them anytime soon! (Though I do love the carbon bling...)
Re: Rotor Bike Components: Cervelo Test Team sponsor(Original Link)

From Weight Weenies forum:

http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40812

From the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, a Japanese market and business newspaper, translated from the Japanese:

Shimano, the Osaka bicycle giant, has purchased a patent from Spain-based Rotor LLC to develop bicycle chain rings. Rotor LLC's "Q-Rings", an oval version of the traditional round bicycle chain ring will be immediately assimilated into the forthcoming Shimano bicycle component lineup, to be released in the third quarter of 2009.

Tatsuya Yama, the Japanese market Shimano liaison briefly discussed the impact of the patent purchase:

"We believe the Rotor design is the most efficient chain ring design today. Consequently, it must be the Shimano design as well."

Yama confirmed that Shimano has already developed a version of the Rotor Q-ring that is currently undergoing testing. The Shimano developed chain ring will feature "distinctive Shimano design branding", as well as have "a few minor bugs (Rotor's) design overlooked worked out", Yama said.

The new chain rings will be an important element of Shimano's new 7900 version Dura Ace premium bicycle component line up, as well as the heavily anticipated "Electronic" Dura Ace, a sort of automatic transmission for bicycles.

"You must appreciate the impact this new element will have on the high-end cycling industry" says Yama. "It's unprecedented."

GROUP Buy options are as follows:

$649.99 For the 3D Rotor Crank and Q Rings
Or RINGS only: $249.99
This is a Sponsor Plug c/o Cycle Solutions.

They're in! Edge 500(with Heartrate/Cadence) $449.99CAD

OK, new rule.

Positively NO team Radio Shack kits, rides or anything else. OMG has anyone seen the jersey? Well if you thought that was horrid, well the new Madone-6 will make babes cry out for their mother's in the dead of night. It will leave grown men weeping. The. Colour. Scheme. Is. Awful!

This is completely off topic, but the heading of this thread seemed closest.

I guess this counts as one small pedal for a cyclist, one giant swe....
Crazy.... Looks like a super flexy rear end.
This is my newest project for this summer. Looking forward to take this one on the road when it gets done. The before picture without the paint and proposed paint job. I took the stripes from the latest BCC jerseys.
