Hi Jeff,

Thanks for organizing the Klienburg / Albion Hills ride. It was a fantastic route (including 2 stops at Klienburg).

Thanks also for slowing the group to wait up at turns and at the top of steep hills. The best way to improve is to ride with riders above your ability. But its hard to ride with better riders unless they ease up at strategic times. Today was a chance for me to ride with stronger riders without getting stranded. :-) I had a great time!

Hi Jeff,

I enjoyed hearing about your trip to Italy. It makes me want to go. Thanks for putting me on to Variety Village & showing me the aerobic equipment. I talked to Dale about it. More discussion needed. :-)

Had to leave Grinders before you & Menani got there due to damp clothes getting chilled. Sorry I didn't stop & say hi. I didn't recognize you til i'd ridden past and i also was on a timeline.

See you soon,

Arn

No sweat re T4K this year. Its a pretty big commitment. You have an open offer to join us... if you feel you can squeeze the fundraising, the training and the 4-day ride in for this year.

See ya out on one of the Sunday rides... sometime in April. Meanwhile, enjoy the skiing!

Hi Jeff,

It's been almost 2 months. How's skiing? Heading north this weekend? If not... our Tour 4 Kids team is having a pub night this Friday (Mar 27, 8pm) at Brazen Head Irish pub (near King & Bathurst). See brazenhead.ca for exact location.

It would be great if you can come out this Friday to meet the guys. If not, no sweat. There is a $1000 fundraising commitment but you have 'til August to raise the $$$. You can pick 100km, 160km or 200km/day distances. Also, there are 2-day and 4-day options. Most of our team did 200km for 4 days last year. But we had someone do 100km for 2 days. James, Speedy Steve & Mike Hingert are signed up. Johnathan Tice is very interested. And 3 others are thinking about it. Plus there are about 5-6 who do not ride with BCC.

Anyways, if you're free and if you're up for a beer and some T4K gossip, let me know.

It was great Jeff - I am glad that I did it. The first part involves the spin scan, where the computer monitors your pedal stroke and gives information back on any imbalances between your legs, and what your stroke looks like overall. I found that very interesting, as my right leg is stronger than my left, and at the high cadence I was peddling at, my stroke was all focused on the push, with no pull back up. Then you go through the test and basically just peddal along for 3 minute intervals, where the tension on the wheel is increased steadily at each 3 minute mark. Adam (or Peter) will draw a blood sample to test your lactic acid levels and your heart rate is noted. Once they have the information they require, you cool down and then go over the results. Interesting to see what comes out of it - I feel like I learned a lot about how I have been riding and am hoping that by taking the advice and using what I've learned, I can become a stronger rider. Definately am happy I did the test!
