So is anyone doing the Ride for Karen this year? Anyone wish to train together?
I just signed up for the 160km and will pretty much die if I don't train...lol.

Hi Mike,

This Saturday, I'm expected an average speed of 27-28kph on a moderately hilly route. Ride duration should be 2-3 hours.

I notice that you plan on doing 2500 - 3000 kms this year. That is probably less km than you should have to be comfortable on T4K. I had 5500-6000km *before* i rode the T4K in both 2008 & 2009.... but i figure you should ride at least 3000km in your season *before* riding on T4K in August.

Re: T4K info... the 2-day ride requires riders to raise a minimum of $750 (excluding the $335 registration fee). The 4-day ride requires riders to raise a minimum of $1250 (excluding the $449 registration fee). Registration $$$ covers your food & water, accomodation & sag wagon. Here is a link to the info you may be looking for:
http://www.tourforkids.com/ontario/the_ride.html
Whichever duration you choose, you can ride your choice of 100km, 160km or 200km / day. Be aware that there are a lot of hills on the August T4K route. I recommend some hill training.

I laid a lot of info on you because i want you to have a good idea of how fast the ride is and how much preparation is required.

You are welcome to join us on Saturday. Its your decision.

Hey Mike,

I noticed you're interested in riding in Tour for Kids (T4K) this year. This Saturday, there's a training ride for our T4K team. We are planning on a 2-3 hour ride. You are welcome to join us on our Saturday training ride.

The weather forecast for next Saturday is supposed to be good. The ride starts at Elgin Mills so you will need to drive (or get a lift) to the start.

Let me know I you want to join us on Saturday at 9am. Thanks,

Arn

Hi Mike,

Thanks for getting back to me. I understand your reasons for not doing T4K. But hey, look at you! Both RTCC and Ride for Karen! Way to go.
I look forward to riding with you soon. I'm not sure i'll be at the Thursday night BCC social at Gabby's. Perhaps I'll see you there...

Hey Mike,

If you're still interested in Tour for Kids, just post a message on my page or email me at beachesrider@gmail.com. T4K is a lot of fun. Cheers,

Hi Mike,

I don't know how your interest in Tour 4 Kids slipped my attention! Apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I am happy to hear you're thinking of joining us on the Tour 4 Kids ride this year. There are choices of 2 days or 4 days. And for whatever duration you sign up for there are 100km, 160km or 200 km distances. If you are still interested, we need to get organized. You need to register on the Tour 4 Kids website. Search for the Fabulous Irish pubs team. That's us.

my email address is beachesrider@gmail.com My cell number is 647.501.7579. Please give me your email address so i can link you to Andrew Hoedlmoser. Andrew is arranging for us to get a team jersey (for free).

I look forward to riding with you.

Arn
