Lance on Drugs?

This is some pretty funky logic, but the guy may have something... Rob Ford would probably agree...

Forest City Velodrome

I’ve wanted to try track cycling for a while and finally got the chance last weekend at the Forest City Velodrome in London.  If you’ve been there you know how much fun it is.  If you haven’t, it’s time to make the two hour drive to London to give it a try.

The track is in the arena just off the 401 where the local junior hockey team used to play.  When the team moved to a new arena downtown, many rows of seats and the boards came out and the track went in.  Given the space, the…

BCC On Ice

Despite the cold temperatures and wind chill, a few brave souls turned out for what will hopefully be the first of many BCC Skate nights.  Evan, Trish, Jason, Ian, Steve and I braved the cold to come out for some ice time.  We followed it up with a short trip over to Stratengers for some yummy pizza and pitchers.

I'll be out next Friday with my boys for a short skate followed by a pizza outing.  Anyone who's interested, please come and join us.  Thinking that we'll aim to be…

Evan Glazer One must go!!

Okay, you've all heard me say it.  I have the best wife in the world.  This XMas she went into a bike store and uttered the words she will regret for the next while..."I think you should get it".  So along comes my new ride.  Unfortunately, that makes my bike stable 1 too heavy and I've got to part with my beloved Litespeed.  If anyone knows of anyone looking for a truly amazing bike that is uber comfortable on long rides as well as fast as stink, please let me know.  It's perfect for…

BCC Skate Night?

So, winter's here.  The best way to get through it, besides riding a trainer, is to embrace it.  Thinking it would be fun to get together for a BCC Skate night.  The rink at Greenwood/Dundas in the park is divided in half, so shinny hockey can take place on the one side and free skating/pleasure skating can take place on the other.  It's a nice rink, and nothing beats getting outdoors on a nice winter night for a skate.  There's a lot of great spots along Queen St. which would serve well for…

Exciting conclusion: Garmin Edge 500 and this is why!

Thank you very much for your responses, it really helped me to better focus on my selection criteria.

I spent more hours on this than I ever planned and this post may save you some time if you re considering buying cycle computer. I decided on Edge 500, not easy choice, and here is why:

  1. In spite of the Polar CS500 great design (screen and controls), the lack of ANT+ support eliminated Polar from the competition. ANT+ so important because it…
