Monday MTB ride

It had looked like this weeks ride would be cancelled because of rain, but the trails are still really dry and dusty. There's definitely an advantage to not being the last rider on these sorts of conditions!

Anyway, no pictures this week as I forgot my camera, and I forgot that my BlackBerry takes pictures (yes, I really can be that stupid sometimes).

Next week (weather permitting) - beginners night! Details will be posted soon on the group page:…

So Windy Sunday Ride

Hey all,

Hope everyone had a good ride. I had Sarah, Charlene, and Jon at PUCC with me. We worked hard up to the coffee break in Stouffville. Nice to see you all at the coffee shop. Ride back was amazing. 40km/h+ coasting!!! With work 65km/h! Guess we got lucky this time. Usually, it's headwind both ways.

Till Next… Continue

Another Monday MTB Affair

Another cruise in the Don Trails, this time on the north trail system which I haven't been on for a while. Lots of really steep climbs (yay!) and descents which I didn't do so well on.

Next week, I promise to get that front brake fixed. It will either help with the descents, or I'll have to just 'fess up that I'm lousy going downhill.

Thanks everyone for coming out, See you next…

Tour of Bronte - An unusual race site

Well this weekend I trekked out to Bronte park to participate in a new race on the schedule. The tour of bronte is a test of riding skill due to its transitions from road to hard packed dirt and gravel. It is 8 laps around an 8km course. Unlike last week's ocup, this was a small field for the M3/S3 group as only 43 riders came to the line. We had 4 riders from BCC, Trevor, Brian and James. Interestingly, this is a different allocation of riders than most OCA races as M3 are usually paired with… Continue

First Monday Evening MTB ride

A small group - Jeff, Robert, Gord, and Peter - gathered for the first Monday evening BCC MTB ride. The weather was decidedly un-April like, and we had a nice time tackling the main Crothers' Wood trails between Pottery Road and Flemmington Park.

With Jeff's help, we've even scouted areas for beginners/skills sessions, as several people have indicated a desire for an "Introduction to MTB" session.

Hope to see more BCC'ers out for the next…
