For those who made it out to another chilly ride you will know the wind continues to make the speeds of these rides look very tame yet the riders certainly know that we are working hard. Many thanks to James for keeping me company on the brimley road repeats and lending me his mitts for the wind biting descents i joined alex, patryk, jodie, dru, peter and jim for the ride up to goodwood. What a great crew. While we had one mechanical in what was otherwise a very strong pull north by all of…Continue

Hope you all had a good ride with the respective groups. Thanks Trish, Brooke, Joseph, Laura, Sheddy, Leigh for hanging out with me. Sorry about your flat Jones, I know you just wanted to see if you could catch up:-)
Thanks for the brisk pace back Jake, Howard, Steve.

Well today was supposed to be a big training day and it was all of that and a bit more. As those who rode in toronto can attest, the day was not particularly nice, cold to cool, wet, and ohh those cross winds.
As I began my first of three ascents of the hamilton mountain into Ancaster I came across this truism from none other than the man himself - ok maybe it was the sign guy, but I am sure he was working on instructions.…Continue
Only a half dozen riders were willing to brave the wet roads this morning. The six of us enjoyed a mostly dry, but slightly drizzly Zoo Loop. Thank you to Albert, Henry, Howard, Ken, and Phil for the great ride. Everyone road very well together. I had a great time and I look forward to riding with everyone again. We missed the rest of you BCCers! :)
I apologize for the lack of photo evidence. That said, Dan snapped a shot of us before we left the…Continue
Thanks to Pat and Charles for doing most of the pulling. Nice to ride with you Mark and Kevin.

7 of us started from grinder, picked up QB along the way and north we went. Rob, Kevin, Tim and I turned at 19th and got to Starbucks in Unionville without rain, a little drizzle after coffee break, but it was warm so no trouble. The others, Mark, Charles, Quentin, and Aaron left us and continued north along Leslie, hope your ride went well too!
With this cast of characters the pace was steady and quick. All in all, another good day on the bike.
You lazy bums that enjoyed a…Continue

I have been quite lucky over the past two years to be the guest of Dorel Industries in Montreal at the UCI pro race. Most of the parents out there will recognize Dorel as a maker of all things baby related with a particular emphasis on car seats. For all the cyclists, dorel is the corporate name behind Cannondale and the Liquigas / Cannondale cycling team. Two years ago, I was able to meet and ride with legend Ivan Basso and perhaps future legend Peter Sagan. Last year, I got to meet two…Continue
Great turnout this morning. Warm welcome to the new riders, and nice to see ol' timers:-)

Nice to see all the new faces. I took a skills group of 3 riders and myself through a variety of basics(which aren't so basic when you try to do them on demand!) and they all came out better riders. I think they all enjoyed their ride and now can build on what they learned today for future rides. Thank you guys.
IMPORTANT: Please read - It has been brought to my attention that there were a couple groups that had a hard time staying…Continue
The Good Friday Road Race is the traditional kick-off to the road race season in Ontario. This year, the race was also part of the Ontario Cup (O-Cup) series, so relatively large fields were expected.
The weather at GFRR is always the big variable - I've done this race a number of times and I've had snow, sleet, rain, sun, high winds, below zero temperatures, and highs in the 20s. The forecast this year was for plenty of sun, but with a chilly start to the day. The…Continue

So a small group of us started from Grinder at 8am this morning. I checked the radar and it said no rain until 11AM.
They were wrong - April Fools! It started raining, snowing, hailing just after 9am. Four of us turned at 19th, and the other 4 kept going to Goodwood. All in all, a super fast pace up Don Mills and a good safe ride. There were points that we all thought.."why are we doing this!?" However, as I sit at home writing this, I can say it was…Continue
