0rw91xdeaul41 Work-out Wednesdays

Hey Everyone,

This year I have decided that I want to help out the club by leading a ride on Wednesday nights (Work-out Wednesdays) for anyone who is interested in getting faster. I have been training a lot over the winter and have amassed a (embarrassingly large) wealth of knowledge about training techniques and intervals. I wanted to create a night ride where people can all meet down in the portlands area (south end of Leslie) warm-up and warm down together and everyone can get…

Turbo Tuesdays Have Started... Video of the Action Included in Post!

So, when I decided to start the Tuesday Night Advanced Ride, I forgot that I was lacking my fitness from years past.  Well, let's just leave it at that.  Thanks to all for keeping me in for the duration.:-)  Welcome to Rob and Braden.

0rw91xdeaul41 My First Road Race - How not to win O-cup #2 in Calabogie

Hi Everyone,

Over the weekend Patryk, Jason S, and I attended the second O-cup race of the season in Calabogie. The race was a lot of fun as it was held on a closed course race track. It was my first ever mass start race, and aside from all the reading, watching pros and talking to others I have done, I had very little idea of what to expect. I had heard stories of crashes and was very nervous, and although assured by fellow members, it is very hard to believe your fitness is there…

Saturday Ride #3 of 2013 - Cold, Wind, Rain, Snow, Wind, Cold..etc.

So I started this club because I knew that days like this would be hard to get out and ride.  But when I rolled into Grinder this morning, there were quite a few riders ready to take on whatever mother nature has to offer.

Warm welcome to the new members: Ivana, Braden, Andrew.  Hope you all had a good ride.  I took a couple pics, when I had the chance.  Most of the ride it was either very windy, raining or snowing.  But we all toughed it out and our group made it back safe.  By the…

The 20th annual P-A is in the books.  Great weather for the event this year, 2,200 riders, nice tailwind, lots of mud!  I saw many BCC riders on the course which was great!  I had a bit of a mechanical challenge (front brake partly on the whole way, just what you want!) but still had a good time out there on the gravel.  Race was well organized as usual and quick with winning times sub 1:45.  I was impressed by the bike handling skills of the cyclocross racers as they flew through ankle deep…

Supposed to be Sunny Sunday Ride...

Not that I am complaining, but we could have used more sun:-).  At least it wasn't raining like last week, and there was no mud.  Hope you P2A peeps are doing ok.

Bunch of us meet for 8AM.  Split off into the respective pace groups.  We seemed to all meet up at the Unionville Starbucks.  Everyone seem happy.  Hope you all had a pleasant ride.  Looks like we're going to…

Somewhat Soggy Social Saturday.

It was a smaller group than last Saturday, however, we all got off to a good start. Warm welcome to Charles, who I kinda made ride with the faster group:-). Good job hanging with the boys. The faster group caught up to us(short turn group) on Kingston road and we rode along Kingston road together back to the Grinder.

We got back to the coffee shop before the rain, enjoyed our coffee, and ended up riding home in the rain.:-). All in all, I don't think we can complain. Good ride with… Continue

0rw91xdeaul41 Good Luck at Paris Ancaster

Good luck to everyone riding P2A tomorrow!

Peter Sutton told me a story about losing (aka not being able to find) his shoe in the mud one year. So here's to everyone finishing with both shoes and accomplishing their goals for the race.

For the racers, ride hard, crush souls and stay safe

Have a great time out there!

RAAM - Peter Oyler's Quest to Finish Unfinished Business

Many within the BCC have experienced the WattsUp Facility and interacted with Peter Oyler, one of the partner's in the busines. This June, Peter will embark on his third attempt at the Race Across America (RAAM)—a journey to conquer some unfinished business and continue his support for his charity partner: The Jack Project (http://www.thejackproject.org/). To achieve his goal, Peter has planned on personally funding the costs of this race, which will… Continue
