Great to see everyone out tonight! We had a nice little group of regulars as well as some new faces.
A touch on the cool side tonight, but we really needed nothing more than arm warmers - and really only on the return trip to Gerrard and Main - hill reps certainly warm you up!!!
Tonight's KOM award has to go to Patryk - he set (and maintained) a pretty torrid pace up Brimley, and managed to gap Charles, Steve J, and myself up the…Continue
It was a warm and blustery night! Perfect temperature, and not too humid.
A big NW wind pushed the 6 of us along Kingston Rd at record speeds, then we faced the hard truth up Midland into the headwind, "We aren't ready for the Giro'. Well it wasn't so bad, just short turns at the front and slower! Good work sharing the pulls, got us over to the Crit loop for a bunch of fast laps, then home along Kingston.
Sorry no photo, you'll just need to imagine 4 good looking guys on bikes.
Welcome to new BCC member Brad and great to see Emile and Paul on cross bikes.
This week was about exploring and riding some of the smoother, less rooty paths; the river trail, pump track, up to Bayview extension, Pottery Rd trail, and up the Redway road hill to Loblaws and back down in the trails.
Probably the toughest thing we did was the out and back to the pottery Rd parking…Continue
Hey, the trails are in great shape so come on out to play!
Oil the chain, pump up the tires, bring some food and water.
I'll be at the Dawes Rd Parking lot at the start of the Taylor Creek bike path at 6:30pm and want an hour or so of riding. Light to medium intensity.
Future nights - depending on interest -
Intro to mountain biking and skills ride.

Several BCC'ers participated in the Ride for Jack on Saturday. It was a beautiful day, perfect weather, great route, signage, food and company! And all for a wonderful cause. QB (bandages and all) and James were marshals for the Big Jack (123k). Laura and I rode the Jack 100 with the rest of the BCC crew riding the Big Jack. Hope you all had a fabulous ride. …Continue
Hey, hope everyone had a good Saturday ride...
I rode with quite a group up to Stouffville and back. The pace seemed pretty fast! I'm used to Saturdays having the odd push here and there but there just didn't seem to be much letting up! Next time, I'll be looking to take it a bit easier!
Anyway, how did everyone else' ride go?
Wow - just a little on the muggy side tonight. Still, it's always nice to get out and shake out the legs with a bunch of Brimley repeats, a leg-buster run up Meadowcliffe, and finally the return sprint.
Great to see everyone out and working on their climbing skills. Also nice to see Jamie's new TT toy - boy, did she ever put the hurt to us tonight on the…Continue
I have taken a couple of days to write this as I was letting this whole thing sink in. While I still believe that Ironman competition is definitely a harder one day event then any of the 8 days, the impact on the body of this daily effort is meaningful. While we more or less (less by about 100 miles and 4,000 vertical feet) matched the pro racing experience in terms of distance and climbing, what you don’t quite get is the pure experience of racing. With no number or…Continue
What a terrific day out on the road! We set out on the Goodwood, Group 3 ride with Jeff, Emile, Jodie, Andrew, geez, am I forgetting someone? Way up near Stouffville Road, we met up with Paul. Awesome route with nary a car on it. Beautiful weather! Met up with the Goodwood, Group 2 at Annina's, Christina and Dave... man, who am I missing. Anyway, a great ride home too, save for a few flats and a dude from another club who got mixed up with us... Everyone got home…Continue

A number of BCC riders were off to Pelham today to race the Niagara Classic Road Race. This is the race that features the infamous Effingham Hill - a very aptly named climb for many reasons (and only one of those reasons is because the hill is on Effingham Street).
Peter Cahill, myself, and Jim Weir suited up for BCC, and were assigned race bids numbers 1, 2, and 3, respectively. A good omen, but while we all had a decent race (essentially…Continue

Fairly large crowd this week - thanks for showing up. Even have a few pics from Beer Night!
A few climbs up Brimley - practice for this weekend's race up Effingham Hill - followed by a quick jaunt down and then up Meadowcliffe. The sprint... well, I overplayed my hand this week. Jeff and I had some pretty long pulls along Kingston, and my solo break fell apart about 400 m short once I'd burned out my afterburners. Mohamed and Steve J blew by me like I…Continue

BEST DAY YET - Terrific scenery, great weather and it almost feels like my climbing is getting better! My own triple crown which compares favourably to Peter Sagan's third stage win.
Here are my pics:
A little slow getting these posted - sorry!
I dont have my Garmin with me so I dont have the stats. I will post them tomorrow.Continue
Hope the other groups had a great ride.
We sure did. Our little group of Kerri, Steve, Jonathon, Andre and rode north DonMills / Leslie to Vandorf following route 5 and wow this is a keeper. It was amazing, I am sure the were no cars for most of the ride until we were at coffee in Goodwood. Much to our surprise, Jody and Dru were saving us a table at the coffee shop and after a few moments, Paul arrives perfectly clean with a big smile. Sunshine for the ride home, smiles all…Continue
