Wow - what a difference a week makes! Not quite so cold this week, nor so windy or wet!
Another incredible sprint finish and Green Jersey by Evan Glazer. And congratulations to Trish Norman on completing her first hillicious ride and capturing the Polka Dot jersey!…Continue
Hello All, a huge thank you to all that have supported Peter Oyler. For those who are interested in endurance cycling to the extreme, RAAM will start for the solo riders on June 11th, 2013 from Oceanside California. Peter is now in California getting ready for his 3rd assault on RAAM, the first in 2007 was successful (the 8th Canadian to finish this race) and in 2009 he had to abandon due to health issues. He is determined to make up for unfinished business in 2013. Part of his crew is our…Continue
Okay so it has been a month since I joined BCC and thought it was time to share my initial thoughts from 5 weeks worth of rides. First of all, last year I would be riding on Kingston Road on my own usually out to Lawson and then to Island Road to Rouge Park, along Lawrence and back to Kingston Road, Warden and home. Most Saturday & Sunday mornings I would see different groups, usually on my way home as the various groups were heading out towards Lawrence. I decided to check out this BCC,…Continue
A small but dedicated group of BCC riders gathered on a miserable night for some hill climbing....
Nasty, nasty headwind tonight - sucked all the snap out of my legs. Or it might have been the early morning workout at WattsUp this morning (36 minutes of Zone 4 work. Ugh.) Either way, it was a bit of an ugly evening and as the weather started to get colder…Continue
Posting this for any riders "over 40"... 41 year old Voigt on his recent win at Amgen TOC.

So I met the group @ 7am this morning before heading off to see some of our guys race in the Niagara Classic R.R. O-Cup #5. How was everyone's Ride???
We decided to go right to the Effingham hill climb, otherwise known as the "F-ingham" hill climb. The race is quite difficult and by 10am, it started to really get hot. Anyways, not much of a writer, so here is the…Continue
Please send me your pics if you have any. Thanks to all for helping keep the groups safe by checking intersections, marshaling and helping new riders along with etiquette. So many of you, I'm bound to miss someone - You know who you are!:-) The Club's success stems from it's membership and camaraderie. Thank You! DY. Comments welcome.…Continue
Good Group, welcome to John. Comments welcome.
Excerpt from Cyclingtips.com:
"Don’t just go out and motorpace without some proper strength and power blocks of training. If you do this you’ll gain some form for a while, but you won’t have the underlying fitness to keep it going and build upon it. Make sure that you motorpace…Continue
So a bunch of us decided against the forecast and showed up for the 7AM Start. With this sunrise, how can you say no?Continue
Hope I'm not stealing anyone's thunder, although there seems to be much rumbling today. I was just thinking about today's Lake of Bays Road Race, wondering how the troops faired. The BCC kicked some serious butt today, and Paul M won his particular race!
Congrats to everyone for going all the way up there to race in what…Continue
Welcome to all the new faces, Zoraida, Bronwyn, Simon. Great to have you on the skills ride with me. I hope you all had a good ride today. Sorry no pictures today...:-( If anyone has, E-mail me them and I'll put them up.
Hope the rest of the groups had a good ride.
Despite early forecasts calling for dampish conditions, our second Hillicious ride of 2013 was completed under sunny skies.
Started with a smaller group this week - no doubt many were wary of the weather. Looking up, I don't quite know why...
Nonetheless, we picked up quite a few riders at Brimley itself as it became more and more obvious that…Continue

Saturday is Stage 8 of the Giro. It's an individual time trial that runs from Gabicce Monte to Saltara. Unfortunately, I'll be arriving the following week. We're staying at the Belvedere Hotel in Riccione, which is about 10 kms to the north.
One of our favourite rides is along coast, then the climb to Gabbice Monte and along the Panoramica to…Continue

I arrived late to the start of the ride and the Fast group was already on their way. The Stoufville group was getting organized and so was the Unionville group. I joined up with the Unionville group as I am gradually increasing my mileage as I continue to work on my base miles. Eleven of us made our way up Don Mills as a tight pro-peleton would - Keeping minimal distance apart and maintaining manageable climbing speeds. Maureen and Trish were pulling…Continue
Our group consisted of a few new riders... Welcome to Raisa and Marcella. We had a tight group to the zoo. Till next…Continue

Sorry for the late post - been crazy busy at work lately! Then add in 5 days of figure skating practices for the kids and... anyway, you get the picture.
Last Thursday BCC kicked off its weekly Hillicious rides. It was a warm and sunny evening, and it was great to see lots, and lots of hill climbers come out. Enjoy the pictures...
See you next…Continue
