Finally... Le Tour in HD. There is daily morning coverage on TSN2 and repeat coverage in the evening on either TSN or TSN2 depending on the day.
Ironman France is in the bag – not wonderfully in the bag, but completed nonetheless. This was tough one, but they all are – this is Ironman, but sometimes you just keep wishing it was a lot easier. The key details are as follows:
Steve Fantaske, Peter Skalenda and I will be lining up on Sunday (July 3) for the National Masters Road Race championship in Burlington.
The Masters Men race starts at 1:00pm, and it is going to be tough, tough, tough: over ten laps, we'll travel 113km and climb over 1,100m !
Tonight, a number of people from our club, the community, and other fellow cyclists from around Toronto are already set to ride around the Pharmacy Ave. and Birchmount Rd. area to show support for the bike lanes there.
This is the event description from the official facebook page:
"Help save the Pharmacy Av. and Birchmount Rd. Bike Lanes by joining us for a ride to raise awareness and to listen to what the local neighbours…
Much of ths week's ride was done in the company of, well, no one.
We started off with a pretty low turnout - myself, Alex, and Jeff. Jeff was pretty tired from competing in this weekend's 24 hour race and left for home soon after arriving. As usual, Alex was game for just about anything, and the two of us set out at a pretty decent pace.
Alex comes straight from work, however, and he's a cycling commuter. As one can see from the…Continue

I remember the first time I saw an event post for this ride on the site. I remember thinking "Holy crap that's an insane amount of riding!" I remember thinking that there was no way I'd ever do something like that....then Thursday morning rolls around and I receive an email in my inbox from Steve with the subject line "IDEA" All it said was "Toronto to Niagara and back. One day. You and me." We kicked the idea around for a day, I emailed James to see what he thought, and the next thing…Continue
What a great day at Welland. The water was beautiful, the temperature was perfect, and the course was fast for the Half Ironman. Jodie and I are old hats at this but for Brooke, David, and Charles this was their first Half Iron experience. Here's how it went down:
My race went well if not perfectly (At this distance there are always ups and downs during the day). The swim was great and the water clear. I found a fast group, tucked in and swam totally relaxed…Continue

Hope everyone had a good ride. Enjoy the pics and video! Comments welcome.…
Well I have been in Nice since Wednesday night and it is getting ever so close to race day. In prep, I rented a car on thursday and tried to drive the full course to get some perspective of the challenge that lays ahead on Sunday. Oh My God - yes this deserves the full spelling!! Unfortunately I am not able to load up my pics, but this is nothing I have seen before on a bike. There is 1,800m of vertical climbing to be done on this course, I think it is double that…Continue
Thanks to Mohamed, Steve, and Dave for risking the rain! Paul - you chickened out needlessly! But thanks for sending me a message so I knew you weren't coming. Sorry about the name-calling... :)
Despite a pretty iffy weather forecast, we had a beautiful evening for the weekly Brimley torture session. Check out the blue sky in the…Continue
We worked on a few things tonight:
- Riding as close to 40kph as possible
- Cornering at all speeds(25/30/35/40/45/50kph) on the inside and outside.
- & last but not least .... Sprinting, lots of…Continue
What a wonderful day to ride the bike. Hope you all had a safe and enjoyable ride. Let's do this route a couple more times. Comments…
Thanks to Tom and Jason for a great ride. My avg was 31km/h+ for 80kms. Max speed was 73km/h coming down Russel Hill. Bridge sprint maxed out at 65km/h so Jason's would have been closer to 70kph cause he passed me.
In the group shot there is Aaron, Bob C, Mike, Ian, James, Jeff, Jon, Bob L, Kerri, Steve W, Steve J. (Bob Leclair is a friend of Bob C that rode with us last year)
Missing but not forgotten, Joel, Bruce and…Continue

Another blistering fast Sunday ride, led by Dru... there were two small groups that headed for Goodwood, and both arrived at relatively the same time! I got dropped on the hills a couple of times on the way up and got dropped once going downhill! (how does that happen!!??)
I don't know what the exact times were (maybe Dru or Evan can fill it in) but there was talk of 32.5 average and we definitely got home earlier than last week!
Good luck to everyone doing…Continue
