So, I see one of the other Dave's arrived at the Grinder just after I did yesterday. When I arrived yesterday morning poor Adam was lonelier than a Maytag repairman but gave me an extra hit of expresso for coming out. He said no one else had stopped by so I figured I was on my own
Out of stubborness I decided to try the ride I suggested last week with the alterations suggested by Michael and Albert i.e. right along Lakeshore and up Colborne Lodge Road into High Park. Route wasn't bad… Continue

Welcome to Jamie and Ian!. Hope your experience was a grueling as it is for all of us. Great pulls buy all and Bill congrats on your own Game! It's nice to string out the interval to 10kms in distance. I think everyone enjoyed it! Nice little tag team action on the end towards Wilson. I knew Bill was going to go. He's a strategic player:)
Max was 85km/h down Wilson through Yonge(Yeah we got a green Light!) and Avg was around 31.5km/h.

A hardy group of four BCC'ers (Michael, Dave, Thi and Peter) gathered at 6:30 am at Birchmount and Danforth. After a brief discussion of the Toronto to Simcoe weather forecasts, the planned Simcoe run was ditched in favour of a rendevous with the Kleinburg group that was to head out at 7:00 am.
Mr. Map-it Michael and has trusty Garmin quickly plotted out a modified Kleinburg route with about 20 km in extra loops that hopefully would have us arrive at the coffee shop only about 5… Continue

So Brooke, Kevin, Matthew, and I showed up at approximately 6:30, waited for ten minutes and headed out to Brimely. At Kingston and Midland we saw four BCCers booting it the other way. We yelled over but they did not hear us so we continued on to Brimley. We met Lawrence there, a very nice person.
After three hill repeats the sky was not looking too good so back we went. As we pulled out onto Kingston, a woman yelled 'tornado warning!' out the car window which made us pick up our… Continue

Does anybody have a decent cycling route from the Beach to Thornbury, Collingwood, Meaford or Owen Sound? Appreciate any assistance.

So who says you don't learn new things everyday!. Found out that my right shifter cable was starting to fray... so, I couldn't shift out of the gear that I was in..... Left me with either a 39-15T or 53-15T Ratio. Thought I was done for the ride, but I guess when you don't have a choice, you have to let the mind take over. Positive thinking and a clean high cadence pedal stroke got me though. Only maxed out at 74km/h. But given the limited gearing, I'm not… Continue

This was a fun event to watch. My first time watching triathalon and the first time for my son Stephen to attempt the event. I had no idea what to expect, and was very impressed. Friendly people who seemed casual but filled with purpose and serious about doing their best.
The group was split up into waves, each wave had a start time. The wave was marshalled from the beach into thigh deep water ready for the start. Count down and they are off. The swim was a 750m counter clockwise triangle,… Continue

So Kerri, Steve, Paul, Alexx, Arn, Todd, James and I decided to start at Elgin and the Leslie..... Great Start but the group was up on our tail before we got over to Vic Square. Led by the Tri Geeks: QB Express and Silly Silcox. Seemed that they were working hard and I was only able to keep the entire group together for about 5kms when it broke apart into 2 separate groups: People that wanted to Push the Pace and the Tapering T4K group. I hung back and took it easy for… Continue

Well, I joined the BCC to become faster on the bike and it worked. I won't bore you with too many details of the race. Swim - Decent, Run - Not too good. It's the bike I'll expand on. The bike split was the fastest I've ever had. 41.3kph on a thirty k bike course with six turnarounds and lots of traffic. I ended up fifth overall in the race, which wasn't bad considering the high level of competition, and had the third fastest bike split. I'm definitely coming out for every ride this week as I… Continue
