Riding in a Group:

Another fair-sized group of riders featuring many of our regular hillicious hillbillys. It's amazing to see how much everyone has improved on the hills this season!!!
King of the Mountains this week goes to Patryk, who put in an absolutely blistering second climb on Brimley, just edging out Paul M. Looked like the effort just about put Pat flat out on his back, though!
Not sure who took the sprint points tonight - I gave a pretty…Continue
Sorry, the pics aren't that great. But those that were there know...:-) Avg was still 32kph for the ride.
Thoughts on the Morningside(401-Kingston) Stretch... I'm kinda concerned that it's not the safest intersection to be going through given the amount of traffic....
Well, I guess it pays to check the site before heading out to a ride.
Picked up Marco and the two of us went down to the park to find…no one there! Oh well, we did some drills and rode around on Jamie's little course. The turning is getting easier, but I did manage to bin it on a dismount! Good news is it didn't rain at all, well until just now. It's raining buckets out there.
Here's our visual evidence. Till next week then!…Continue
No photos to post, but Jamie took the gold medal at the Ontario Provincial Time Trial Championships held over the weekend in Clarence-Rockland, Ontario. She completed the 40 km course in 59:35 (that's 40.3 km/h for nearly an hour!)
Lots of Familiar faces... tackling Brimley in order to justify the extra…Continue
Well, David, Jason, Brooke and I went down to do Ironman Mont Tremblant this past weekend and it was an unforgettable experience. Wow what a great race. There are so many things to write about but I'll try to keep it as brief as possible.
First, Mont Tremblant is the perfect location for an Ironman. It's small, not very congested, and both the ski village and the surrounding area are gorgeous. The locals and area businesses welcomed the event with open arms…Continue

Dst: 51kms, Avg: 32kph, Max: 56kph. Take into consideration I was dropped 3 Times on Kingston on the way back. Our average speed to the crit was 34kph... Most times we were riding 40-45kph and my heart rate was 186bpm for 45mins straight!
Even the new guy Jason hung on:-) Oh well. Thanks to all you considerate souls for…Continue
This really was quite a busy weekend for the BCC, as we were very well-represented at a few events! Just wanted to share the ride that a few of us had down in Ellicottville for the Centurion.
Some of our members participated in last year's Collingwood Centurion event, and this one was definately run in the same manner - very organized, well planned out and helped out in a big way by lots of incredible volunteers.
The group who decided to head south this weekend were Bob and…Continue
Sorry- no pictures- but I thought I'd send along a quick summary of my Tour for Kids adventure.
This was my first T4K's- and I have to say that it is an incredible event, with outstanding cyclists and volunteers. Most importantly, it is an outstanding cause. While we did not have a BCC team per say, I came across several BCCer's including Arn, Albert, Andrew, Joel, Bruce, Michael, Ang, and Julie Toole (who I had a chance to ride with a couple of times and is incredibly fast…Continue
We had about 8 riders leave from Grinder @ 6AM, and 12 meeting at Elgin and Leslie. The 6am Group made it to us by 7AM. They booked it!
2-3 groups split heading north to Simcoe. Some route alterations later, and we all convened at the variety store on the lake. We all had a quick recharge and nature break and our group started to head back.
We ended up heading out in our respective groups. After some road resurfacing on McCowan, we managed to…Continue
If your not following along a terrific race between Pat and Jason. Jason has passed Pat in the last leg of the bike/t2/run section ofthe race...This should be an interesting ending
Dave Shedd at the Finish
Brooke at the Finish!…Continue
Hope everyone had a good ride. For those heading to E-ville tomorrow, hope you saved your legs for the hills:-)
I'd like to get pics if you have any, and also please comment/feedback on your ride and the routes. The Route Committee want to make improvements where we can.
Thanks again for the support and hope to see you next week!…
Wow, we had quite a few people out this week! The prediction for rain starting in the middle of our ride (and which didn't materialize, of course) certainly wasn't scaring people off.
Welcome to the all new faces, and great to see all the dedicated hillicious riders out again. The sun is setting earlier and earlier every week, so this week was just a couple of Brimley runs, followed up by a Meadowcliff surge to shake out the legs just before our…Continue

Jon Spira and I were riding in the Don this early morning and made a little discovery:
You know the wooden train bridge just north of the molars, that is on the way to ET Seton, Sunnybrook and all the rest? Well, the wooden ramp on the west side of that bridge is basically out. We had to do a little cyclocross/portage toward the bottom and found equipment. When we were on our way back two workers told us no dice, and that the whole damn bridge will be out till November. We had to…Continue
Sorry, no pictures.
What a lovely day - great weather, great riding. The butter tarts were delicious, as always. Much better coffee at Anina's this year with the new machine! Nice to see Mike Hingert and his vintage Austin Healey Sprite up at the coffee shop. A terrific group of people turned out for the ride, and the groups seemed to separate naturally and ride very well well together. Seemed like a good time was had by all. Jeff, great route variation on the way…Continue
Well, what a day! 6 of us started at 6:30am from timmies (we moved the time, where were you Jamie?) and Jason joined us at Exhibition place. Mark was seemingly making his sunday debut (not really but certainly the riding legs were going to come under fire), Alex was prepped and ready with his latest and…
Never know what the weather will bring, what we got was a wonderful ride!
Marco, Lana, Dan, Neil, James, Frank and me all get Kudos for being keeners! Grinder at 8:00 guess what, no rain.
A few different rides happened, Marco went south, Dan and Lana did zoo + Pickering, and the remaining 4 rode up Leslie to 19th, over to Stouffville for a quick espresso, and home down Ressors. And guess again, yup sunshine for most of the route.
Our ride was great, we worked well and…Continue
