Well, our fearless leader was showing off his new bike on the ride last Saturday by doing the Dan thing. Riding well in the group then kicking in the turbo and flying of the front. The Danforth Sprint was a perfect example, an early kick took advantage of group disorganization and…Continue
Hope everyone else had a good time last night at the Dog, Leigh and I had a lot of fun.
Those that attended were able to check out Jake's newly brucked up shoulder... as such, he and the "Doctors" don't think he can ride for the next two weeks. I thought I would post some inspiration! The story behind the picture can be found here and is…Continue

Did my first Sunday ride today and I have to say it is pretty similar to the Saturday ride. :)
We all opted to do Stouffville, even though there were one or two riders who would have done Goodwood if there was more interest.
The weather was great and there were lots of nice colours up north, although we encountered a bit too much red (lights) once we got back into town.
I can't remember all the names, but Jeff & Wayne did a short loop. The rest of us more or less…Continue
The weather forecast seemed to scare off a few, but for those that attended, it was a great day to ride. Good company, fun times!

Well, I'm definitely having lots of fun with cyclocross despite there being tons of room for improvement. The Toronto race at Centennial taught me a couple of things. First, a tire pressure of 50psi is too much, even on clinchers. I kept falling on every lap and also kept losing traction on the steep hills. Second, shifting is better than trying to power over obstacles in the big ring. Third, timing systems are highly suspect. I finished 8th in the M3 race after catching and sprinting…Continue

In case you're thinking of a bike vacation in Italy ...
Below is an email from the Hotel Belvedere in Riccione, featuring the 2013 Nove Colli. This Gran Fondo takes place in May but the hotel needs a confirmation and deposit by the end of October. They take care of registration, transportation to and from the start, pasta and drinks at the finish.
I'm planning on going back in May 2013 for the 5th year in a row.
It's a great cycling vacation in the Emilia-Romagna…Continue
Two riding options for BCCer's:
Well, this was something totally different. I popped into an M3 CX race on Saturday and had a blast - a muddy, painful blast. It was nice seeing Don and JJ there also racing - thanks for the tips guys. The race was located in Ancaster and was well organized although a little flat for my liking. Seeing as the course organizers seemed to have a special affinity for off camber, muddy turns, I was amazed that I only fell once. Unsure where everyone finished since the results are not up yet, but…Continue
