Hello All, Dan asked me if I would post my experience as I build towards racing Ironman Canada in late August 2009. I thought what the heck, as I anticipate putting my experience up on the blog will keep me closer to my goal if I know even one BCC member might hold me to my program. I have named the journey "Konada", with the hope (and it is one big prayer given my first ironman was 14:26:30) that I might be able to qualify for kona at canada. To put this in perspective, being in the 45-49 age… Continue

OK Boys and Girls,
I have spoken to Peter and Adam from Watts Up Cycling
. Here is their offer to the members of the BCC:
"In light of recent developments at Lation Fitness, we'd like to offer those BCCers who are now without an indoor ride the opportunity to try out our classes. In fact, we're keen to offer this to the entire BCC gang. We'd like to offer a week of free classes, the week of Feb 9 to 15. Weekday… Continue

I must say that I am really sad that the decision had to be made to close the Studio. I met many great people there, not to mention how Instructing Spinning has allowed me a different perspective on Cycling.
Lation Fitness Studios will be missed.

Well the temperature is rising and the sense of spring is certainly in the air. Of course, there is likely 2 more months of this snow to contend with which means i continue to be relegated to the trainer.Once again I made my way to wattsup for the "3 hour tour".
I felt good heading into the ride. We were going to do the steelman 70.3 (in the uk i believe), which would be a relief given the mountainous Nevada ride of the previous week. There were 4 BCC members again there today,… Continue

Funny to know that your 15 year old is off on a jet plane on his own. His adventure to new zealand has begun with a 5 hour flight to san fran that I watched out of the corner of my eye at work on www.flightaware.com. If I had the time i could watch his flight make the entire journey or it emails me when he arrives, what great technology - almost as good as this website. I am just not sure what i would have done if the flight path dropped off the screen!!
a great day outside in the… Continue

Well there is about 7 months left before I line up on the starting line at IM Canada in penticton. This is a race that everyone wants to compete in or so it seems. I got very lucky signing up on-line. The good news is that I will have three buddies joining me for the race - Steve B a money manager here in Toronto, Stew M - an equity salesman in the UK, and Christian L - an investment banker in vietnam - an eclectic group.
today I rode for 2.5 hours at wattsup - we did the Silverman… Continue
