Blue Mountain Adventure 2017

H2H - Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City Charity Ride

My stepson Isaac is teaching English in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and is taking part in an exciting adventure that started this past Friday.

H2H - Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City - is a charity bicycle ride that first took place in 2009. It is organized by volunteers and the funds raised go towards Vietnamese organizations that work with poor and disadvantaged children.

Go Tell It on Blue Mountain!

Last season, my first with BCC, I recall that a lot of members participated in the Centurion Blue Mountain, in both the C50 and C100 events. That is 50 and 100 miles for those new to the club. The View From the Back of the Pack

Okay so it has been a month since I joined BCC and thought it was time to share my initial thoughts from 5 weeks worth of rides. First of all, last year I would be riding on Kingston Road on my own usually out to Lawson and then to Island Road to Rouge Park, along Lawrence and back to Kingston Road, Warden and home. BCC Rides

Cycling in the summer can be about casual riding, sprinting, spinning, big-ring hammerfests or what ever your chosen type of riding is. The BCC was founded for the sole purpose to network cyclists. It has grown into a successful club which accommodates Riders at almost all skill/fitness levels. Everyone should be able to participate and have fun at their respective levels.

 

Weekend Rides: 

Saturday

Saturday Morning
Start time is 8:00am early season, 7:00am as days get longer. Route distances vary from 55-120km and several pace groups are available. Saturday morning rides focus on a social vibe.

Sunday

Sunrise Sundays
Rides will start around sunrise. Rotating routes will focus on distances from 55-160km.  Remote start rides outside the GTA.

Weekly Rides:

 

Tuesday

Advanced Turbo Tuesdays
For this ride, advanced group riding and bike handling skills are required. You must also be aware of your limitations. Riding speed is 35kph+.

Thursday

Hillicious Thursdays
Starts at 5:40am. This ride includes Bayview, pottery rd, redway other local hills.

Tues/Thurs

CX/MTB Ride

Starts at 5:30AM. Bring your CX or MTB out for a great Don trail ride. Some weeks, we'll head to a local park to practice CX skills.
