As you may or may not have heard, BCC was well represented last Sunday in the provincial road races up in Holland's Marsh. In the early races it was Jim W and Peter C holding it down with a solid 19th and 32nd respectively. I'd be really interested to hear about their ride and thoughts on the course. Our own Leslie H took silver in her race for her…Continue

So, many of you have teased me over the past year and a half about my hairy legs. I now get a comment almost every ride. I personally don't really see the value equation of hair removal being positive. I see the benifits (looks better, easier road rash removal etc), but I just don't see it being worth the work/pain from my perspective. Add my wonderful and understanding wife being adement that she prefers the hair, and you have the reason why I haven't shaved, until now!…Continue

Hey Everyone, hope you all had an awesome day of riding if you were out, even in the wet.
As Dan mentioned, BCC had yet another successful day out on the race course... in the wet again...
I don't have much time right now, but rest assured, I will write a long winded and boring post about my first trip to the podium for whoever has the patience to read it…

This year I have decided that I want to help out the club by leading a ride on Wednesday nights (Work-out Wednesdays) for anyone who is interested in getting faster. I have been training a lot over the winter and have amassed a (embarrassingly large) wealth of knowledge about training techniques and intervals. I wanted to create a night ride where people can all meet down in the portlands area (south end of Leslie) warm-up and warm down together and everyone can get…

Over the weekend Patryk, Jason S, and I attended the second O-cup race of the season in Calabogie. The race was a lot of fun as it was held on a closed course race track. It was my first ever mass start race, and aside from all the reading, watching pros and talking to others I have done, I had very little idea of what to expect. I had heard stories of crashes and was very nervous, and although assured by fellow members, it is very hard to believe your fitness is there…

Good luck to everyone riding P2A tomorrow!
Peter Sutton told me a story about losing (aka not being able to find) his shoe in the mud one year. So here's to everyone finishing with both shoes and accomplishing their goals for the race.
For the racers, ride hard, crush souls and stay safe
Have a great time out there!

Since I knew I would be working hard all winter on the trainer in the same (very static) position, I wanted to make sure I was going to be in the right position and working…Continue

Hope everyone else had a good time last night at the Dog, Leigh and I had a lot of fun.
Those that attended were able to check out Jake's newly brucked up shoulder... as such, he and the "Doctors" don't think he can ride for the next two weeks. I thought I would post some inspiration! The story behind the picture can be found here and is…Continue

I've been meaning to share my ride story and pics from Mt. Tam in Califonia with everyone for a while now, but haven't gotten around to it until now.
That morning, Leigh (my new wife) and I went to Alcatraz (highly recommend going). I was excited about going for a ride as we had scoped out some of the route the day before. We rented a tandem and spent the day touring around the other side of the Golden Gate bridge. This was my first and last chance…Continue
