Come out to mindset CYCLING any time between noon on Friday, March 23 and noon on Saturday, March 24. Jason will be doing a 24-hour indoor training ride as part of his preparations for Race Across America.
You read that correctly: 24 hours on either one of mindset's CompuTrainers or totally awesome E-Motion rollers. To re-create some of the RAAM experience, he'll ride a computer simulation of the race route…Continue

I've been a fan of track cycling for years. There's something fluid and elegant about a paceline turning laps doing perfect lead changes. I decided last week that I was done with the rental track bikes in London and Milton and decided to get my own. I think we're going to have lots of fun together. If you haven't tried the track in Milton, what you are waiting for? If you're already certified, I'll see you on the boards.…Continue
There's no better way to start the weekend than on two wheels in the sun. There was a big crowd at Ted Reeve at 7:00 -- no surprise. JRod gave what he promised was his last pre-ride missive. Most people were heading off to Stouffville. I had planned to ride up to Whitevale as has been my usual the last few weeks. At the last moment…
I just got home from the most brilliant ride! I joined to Turbo Tuesday Nighttime ride for the first time. It's going to be a while before I'm able to go to sleep. What a ton of fun. Having said that, this ride isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea. It's consistently fast (at times very, very fast), and half the ride happens in the dark. This makes having a fair bit of nerve and a lot of experience in tight group critical prerequisites.
Ironically, though, it's also the…Continue
At one time or another, we have all arrived at the start of a ride without having looked at the route map. It's not ideal, but we've all done it. We all also know that, for many reasons, it’s better to have plan for getting out and back that is more sophisticated than blindly following the wheel in front of you. A number of BCC members put a lot of time into scouting, planning and drawing the routes in tools like MapMyRide so that they are available to all. Unless you’re already so…Continue
After thinking about it for a couple of years, I finally tried track cycling last winter at the Forest City Velodrome in London. I was instantly hooked on the amazing feeling of a completely smooth surface, no wind and banked corners. When I offered to organize a BCC road trip last March for more people in the club to try it, a dozen signed up in no time. So, I figured I'd organize another trip for this year in November.
The introductory "Track 1" sessions are on Saturdays…Continue
Finally... Le Tour in HD. There is daily morning coverage on TSN2 and repeat coverage in the evening on either TSN or TSN2 depending on the day.
I’ve wanted to try track cycling for a while and finally got the chance last weekend at the Forest City Velodrome in London. If you’ve been there you know how much fun it is. If you haven’t, it’s time to make the two hour drive to London to give it a try.
The track is in the arena just off the 401 where the local junior hockey team used to play. When the team moved to a new arena downtown, many rows of seats and the boards came out and the track went in. Given the space, the…Continue
