This past weekend involved a very cool 6-corner criterium up in Markham at the Honda Canada headquarters.
On the Saturday, I attended the Youth Cup to help as a volunteer. This was an amazing experience. I was given the cool duty of marshalling the SW corner, waving a flag to signal that the kids had cleared the corner safely. Watching and cheering on the burgeoning young talent…Continue
The Lake of Bays Road Race (LOBRR) takes place in the Muskoka region just outside of Huntsville. The course leaves the Deerhurst resort via an 8.7km stretch along country roads, does a 76km clockwise loop around Lake of Bays, and then returns to the resort from whence it came. Being on the Canadian Shield, the race is jam-packed with rolling…Continue

The 2014 Ontario Provincial Road Race Championships took place on the Niagara Escarpment in Lincoln Ontario. Because the race was atop the escarpment, it ended up being a relatively flat course with only ~100m of elevation change over the 12km circuit and only a single real 10m kicker and false…Continue
Check out our new support car!
A dozen cycling souls converged at Ted Reeve today for an awesome trip up to the Scarlem Crit. We did our laps, stretched our legs, and enjoyed the lovely weather on a windy but beautiful summer evening. Despite spending nearly 30 minutes at the crit, we even managed to beat the sun set because our sprints and late ride digs were…Continue
JRod, Mouckie and I spent the night in London so that we could be relaxed and ready well ahead of the early race start times. Unfortunately, we arrived too late to check anything out which was a shame because it was my first time in London. Hopefully I'll have another chance to check it out in the future! Strangely, the downtown area seemed very quiet when we…Continue
Only a half dozen riders were willing to brave the wet roads this morning. The six of us enjoyed a mostly dry, but slightly drizzly Zoo Loop. Thank you to Albert, Henry, Howard, Ken, and Phil for the great ride. Everyone road very well together. I had a great time and I look forward to riding with everyone again. We missed the rest of you BCCers! :)
I apologize for the lack of photo evidence. That said, Dan snapped a shot of us before we left the…Continue
Well, the weather spoke for itself today. We had an early taste of spring, just in time for daylight saving time.
Three quarters of a dozen BCC riders (Alex, Charles, Jody, Joe, Ian, Peter, Stefan, Yossi, and I) turned out to the grinder to enjoy the awesome day. We headed north toward Vandorf just after 8 with the help of a tailwind. As a result, it was a fast ride up to and along Vandorf.
There were some splits in the group along the way. Stefan and Yossi, I hope you both had…Continue
A group of 12 of us rode up north today using the same route as Labour Day Monday. It was a much nicer day without the wind and with the really cohesive and cooperative group, we were able to stay tight for the whole route (regardless of terrain). Overall, it was an amazingly fast ride over the 125km distance. I clocked a 32.1 km/h average with a 70.1 km/h max. Thanks for the awesome ride everyone!
We unfortunately lost someone around Don Mills and York Mills (David?). We stopped at…Continue
With the dubious forecast this morning, I'll admit that I wasn't expecting to see that many people at the grinder. My apprehension turned to elation when I pulled up at 7:30 and saw 14 people waiting to go! :)
We began our ride heading straight north into a very challenging, gusty headwind. We kept a very strong pace through the wind, taking short turns at the front to keep the group together and in good stead. Once we turned south on…
Tonight, a number of people from our club, the community, and other fellow cyclists from around Toronto are already set to ride around the Pharmacy Ave. and Birchmount Rd. area to show support for the bike lanes there.
This is the event description from the official facebook page:
"Help save the Pharmacy Av. and Birchmount Rd. Bike Lanes by joining us for a ride to raise awareness and to listen to what the local neighbours…
