Bike Stolen from Malvern collegiate

Hello all, I hope someone can help. On Friday of this past week, my son's Giant road bike was stolen while locked up at Malvern collegiate. Unfortunately I don't have pictures but it was silver, had black bar tape, one michelin pro race red rim tire on the front (I had just changed it over and probably the most distinguishing feature). The bike was a medium frame and a tiagra/105 groupo. Malvern has survellience tapes that they are pulling and giving to 55 division. If you see the bike, let me know.
Thanks
Qb

Man, that really sucks.... I'll keep my eye out at least.

I have to assume the lock was a good one.... were you able to retrieve it from the scene?  Kryptonite will compensate you based on the lock value if you can show them it was compromised.

I will have to ask him Paul, it was a cable lock that they cut, not sure they left it behind. It all happened while I was down t lake placid.

I'm really sorry to hear about that.... I'm always so paranoid about even parts getting taken off any of the bikes I lock downtown. Anyway, I'm pretty sure it is only the U-Locks that any of the companies will insure based on the lock value. Most cable locks are easily compromised by the jaws of life. :(

Correction, the bike was stolen on Thursday, July 25 at 2:40pm, while Austin was teaching at the swim camp.

That sucks.  Unfortunately you just can't lock up good bikes outside in Toronto.  I've had a number of bikes stolen, so now I buy accordingly for my commuters/downtown lock up bikes knowing that I will lose one each year or so.  :(

I dunno if that's necessarily true if you're vigilant Mike. I've been locking up a $1000 bike downtown for the past 2 years and it doesn't even look tampered with based on how I've locked it. I've got a combination of pinhead screws on the seatpost and headset, New York lock, and cable lock for the front wheel. I've considered upgrading to a small U-Lock for the front wheel, but I haven't had a problem in a long time.
