For those of you who have appreciated the comic strip "Family Circus" you can well appreciate the following two links. If you haven't seen this comic strip, feel free to go to the next blog entry.

Now, I am convinced that my Garmin 310xt isn't entirely accurate when it is under water but I am also convinced that my sense of direction is a bit off when it comes to swimming. I just didn't think i was this bad.

Thank goodness I know how to bike.

Here is the route one is supposed to take:

Now here is the "road" clearly less travelled:

At least I posted a reasonable speed on the bike, although not fast enough to allow me to run and get home on time, so the run was abandoned.

cheers.

Patryk, I don't quite understand what the gps is picking up to generate the speed. Could be it takes the hand movement and extrapolates that to the pace of the swim. However, when i looked at the overall timing and a VERY ROUGH calculation of the distance, it suggested a avg 2:05/100, which is probably the right speed for how i was feeling this morning. These things arent perfect yet, but the 310xt almost gets you there.

Oh my god, it looks like a map of an ant's path around a melted Mr. Freezie... that is SO funny... it can't be right. But I'd check into whether there are any spots left on the olympic team - you could be Canada's next secret weapon! And does Canada have any secret Marines? Like Brooke said, not just anyone can swim over grass and pavement - you might have a really special talent there too, "Q.B."... if that's your REAL name, Mr. Bond.
