That was indeed a lot of fun! Overall, I thought the route was good, especially once the 105km group pulled onto Coronation Rd. to enjoy some real country roads. Thanks to everyone for the great company and good times. Also, thanks to DY for motor pacing me into oblivion to get onto the 105km group after a natural break!

The only big issue with the route for me was using Whitevale Rd. (Concession 5) to get back to YDL. We should try to find a way to avoid the intense pothole-ridden section east of Whitevale. Is Taunton Rd. a good alternative or too busy at that time? Does that type of change open up the option for some refueling? Otherwise, the 105km route is good in my books.

On another note, I would be curious to hear how Concession 9 was for the 120km group. The last time Alex, Brian, QB, and I road that concession while out exploring new route options, the car traffic was a bit too intense for comfort.

We had little traffic throughout the entire route. It wasn't until we got back down to Kingston rd that we hit a surprisingly heavy amount of traffic (before 1030 on a Sunday...thanks to Dan for pulling Pete and I back on at some crazy speed, as feared it blew me out for the end of the ride (but it was fun to pace behind a motorized vehicle...great riding with Ian, Pete, Jody, and Dru....I'm still working on those hills!

I really enjoyed this route! Lots of quiet country roads, much quieter than the roads north of Pickering and Markham. I think all those riding the 105km route would have enjoyed the extra 15k of quiet country roads - perhaps an extra 30 minutes on the bike!

Great ride today. After that and yesterday's punishment, this weekend has not been all that restful. But I ain't complaining!

Paul M: Our little splinter 105 group (Rob, Neil, Mike) used Taunton (from Westney) to get over to Beare, Plug Hat and the rest of the traditional Zoo Loop, which worked fine. Ultra smooth and wide road, and rather windy. For a top route back, I'd try Westney up to Pickering-Uxbridge TL, and over to Durham 30. It's dead quiet up there, and not as bumpy as Conc 9. My 2¢.

Peter & Jodie: Sorry the group didn't at least dial back the pretty quick pace a bit and wait for you. Think there was a lack of communication going on there. When you amazingly did catch, you looked pretty spent.

The 120k route was super picturesque and pretty devoid of traffic. Too bad my legs were not listening to my brain. I was cooked by the time I got home. Jodie and I chose not to turn north to Stouffville (for coffee) with Ian, Peter and Other-Jodi. So coffee back at Grinder never tasted so good! What a day to have a headwind down Reesor though! Argh!
