Finally! Decent weather on a Thursday night

And boy, did it bring out the riders!  A very big group tonight - welcome to all the newcomers; hope you had fun (as much fun as Brimley repeats can be..)

And a busy night with cars as well.  Please remember to keep to the side of the road, when it is safe to do so... riding side by side is not a great idea when there's lots of traffic.  We definitely don't need cars swinging into the oncoming lane to pass cyclists who are climbing (I had one instance where this happened to me when I was descending).

Ok, a little blurry - keep in mind that I'm riding while taking these photos and trying not to get hit by cars!

Tonight's Green Jersey goes to Peter Skalenda - he's rocking the vintage Soviet team jersey in the top photo.  (It was a huge effort for us at the beginning to open up a sizeable gap on the group during the return ride, but if you look at the two of us side by side, you'll see that I really didn't provide much of a challenge on the actual sprint.)

Tonight's Polka Dot jersey goes to Dianne Dixon, who bravely tackled her very first Brimley climb:

See you all again next week!

just a side note here - I was the last rider on the hill and about 300m from Kingston road someone lobbed an egg at me from a passing vehicle.  Missed me by about a foot.  It's probably good that he got a green light or there would have been a confrontation, likely starting with my footprint on his car.  Beware for the Brimley egg bandit is all I'm sayin.

Just your luck eh, Stefan!

Glad you guys enjoyed the sprint, but remember that you have to be in the lead group to win!  So cover those breaks - I got away just before Brimley, and then you let Peter Skalenda make a solo effort to bridge to me; first and second place had already been rolled up before the rest of you rolled in.
