So, many of you have teased me over the past year and a half about my hairy legs. I now get a comment almost every ride. I personally don't really see the value equation of hair removal being positive. I see the benifits (looks better, easier road rash removal etc), but I just don't see it being worth the work/pain from my perspective. Add my wonderful and understanding wife being adement that she prefers the hair, and you have the reason why I haven't shaved, until now!
Anyway, I'm not doing any other charity events this year, so I thought it might be a fun excuse to raise some money. I'm going to be hairless in honour of Right to Play and Variety Village. Helping kids of all abilities and economic environments grow though sport.
Edited to add Spin for Limbs a great charity event that Simon is associated with in support of children's limb reconstruction.
If we raise $250 (I'll contribute $50) by the middle of next week, I will not only shave my legs, but I will WAX them and post a video up on the site! I can only imagine how much this will hurt me.
If you would like to contribute, please give directly to the charity of your choice (I've suggested a couple, but I will accept donations to most non-religions charities towards the total) and then tell me about it here, in person or a private message. Alternatively, just give me cash and I will add it to either of my donations to the two charities above. Just let me know early next week so I can plan my wax or shave and we can get the money sorted out later. All on the honour system, but if J-rod tells me he gave $200 to the "human fund", I'm going to want to see the reciept... hahaha
Obviously, no pressure to contribute. Please only join in the fun if you; a) want to see me in unbearable pain, b) want to help a couple good causes, c) want to see your face in reflection of my greased up calves (Peter S., based on all the teasing, I believe you fall into this catagory ;)).
THANK YOU ALLLLL!
(and yes, I purposely put the picture lower in the post so that you all wouldn't have to look at it in the blog post feed, and only included it so everyone can reflect on what waxing those puppies would feel like ;))
