Scenic coffee break:
Did my first Simcoe ride today and it was worth the wait. We had a really good group of 11 for most of the way (D, Sage, Dru, Bob, Simon, Nils, Nick, Yossi, Joe & Paul) and made pretty good time. About 40km to go we split the group since 4 riders wanted a shorter ride. Very fun group to ride with.
The weather was threatening rain for part of the ride, but I think I only felt a couple of drops at one point. Lots of sunshine.
One of the best things about the remote start was the lack of lights/stops. Made the ride much more enjoyable. Another great thing was the incredible ride along the lake which had no stops at all.
The highlight of the ride was finally getting to sit on and enjoy a coffee on the dock at the coffee stop. I've heard about it, seen the pictures and I wasn't disappointed.
Looking forward to doing it again.
