Good Point! Only exception is if you call it out loud enough for the person to acknowledge you.

Thanks Albert. My Eyes can't be everywhere. Cheers and thanks for taking care of Zool! Glad you were safe. D.

Good pix, Dan. Thanks again for that wait up at Brock & 7th, and your food advice. Back from dim sum... nap time now.

What a lovely ride! Dan, you had us start our 50k ride at the optimum time so that Mel and I could meet up with everyone at the coffee shop. The roller hills on Columbus/7th Concession were challenging and fun, and it was great to do them at our own pace. It was terrific to ride through such nice countryside - we saw lots of birds and critters, and it was lovely to be surrounded by the sound of buzzing and bird calls.

As we were stopped at the light turning from Rossland onto Thickson, Mel and I looked way up the hill behind us and saw all of you guys in the giant pack, cresting the hill and descending like a train - all sparkling in the sun, and colourful... it was quite an impressive sight!

I hope you all had a great ride today - see you soon!

Excellent choice Dan for today's ride. Although I play catch up at first and thanks for taking us back into the group in Pickering area. The hills on Columbus/Concession were awesome! Got me working on those roller hills. It was a great ride, hope we do this again!

The 50K ride was just perfect. Thanks Alexx for the company and the pace. I actually got to see some amazing country side for once. I have to agree, that to watch the main pack crest the hill on Rossland was impressive!

Not Sure I understand the humour, but I don't think Dave wears his heart rate monitor(during the TT); think he once told me that it helps him work harder.

When the boss is away, blog away!

Was a very good ride. Not epic, and not the fastest, and not the longest, and nothing really exceptional, but it was really good ride? Firstly thanks again D for your time and effort in trying to plan a route to meet so many requirements and objectives from such a large diverse group. Kingston Road/Highway 2 served its purpose and got us out of the city fast. The first stop at Timmies came a little quick. The lead group kept on rolling which was understandable and you really can not call the stuff served at Timmies as coffee (listen to me bitching about coffee shops again?) but the early stop provided a chance for everyone to say hello. Was nice.

After a single file up Thickson a few groups formed which allowed most to settle into a pace they were comfortable with. Aside from a touch of head wind heading west again the roads were really nice. The group got smaller again for those heading around the lake, but the company that had formed was great. Pace was good, weather was perfect. Note: Interesting thing. We did see many other cyclists on the road. Funny the things you see after the sun comes up. After spinning around the lake and very fast blast south (You missed a good one Kerri) we stopped again in Stouville for some real bean and relaxed for a bit. The ride home after was a relaxed fast trip with a few laughs along the way. No one really gave a crap about the numbers, we just seemed to be enjoying the ride and everyone was happy to moderate the pace to keep our small group together. Finished around 140K with an average somewhere above 30K and was home at 11:30am. I hate the 4:30am part but love having so much of the day left after a great ride. All was right with the world.

Cheers.
