Modified Zoo Loop....on four wheels

Today's mild and sunny weather seemed too perfect to pass up, so with the boys in tow, I headed to the zoo...in the car. As I left Grinder and drove along Kingston Rd. (and saw Trish out running) I started to think back about last season. The many Saturday mornings that started out just like that, cruising along Kingston, watching the sun rise, just enjoying being out on the open road.
I do have to admit that the hills ARE much easier in the car, especially the (H)Ellsmere climb when you leave the zoo. I saw a few random cyclists out and was rather envious, I have to say, although the thought of being on the hybrid, with the two boys loaded into the chariot (yikes!) made those thoughts fade.
Now, before you say it, yes, I know that the winter so far hasn't been all THAT nasty, and if I wasn't being such a delicate flower, I could be out there now enjoying some winter riding.....which I just might do if these milder temps persist. May be time to unleash the blue beast back on the roads.....a little weight training in the off season can't hurt, right? Until then, think it might be time to pop back in the Coming of Age DVD....
Looking forward to the real spring and being back on the roads again with everyone!
Cheers!

Yeah, I could do without winter. Of course none of us would have time to reflect on the season past then. Maybe time off the bike is just as important as time on... Or perhaps it's just a thought I'm using to comfort myself as I dig the slush out of my filthy wedged cassette...

I think the down time in the winter is fantastic, it makes the heart grow fonder for those long challenging rides, or the hill repeats on brimley, or yes, even climbing the (h)Ellsmere at the end of 100+ kms. So I will keep yearning and in the meantime keep safe inside at wattsup.
Ps. We missed you on sunday Kerri, now we know where you were at!!
