My first Turbo Tuesday - believe me it's the best thing ever!

This morning I woke up a bit tired but I decided to go for my Beechwood Dr hill repeats. It's been a while since I haven't done it, so I wasn't sure how it was going to go, anyway... I go to the Don Valley trail heading to Beachwood and I started doing my hill repeats

Great!, I thought. I'm done with my workout today and I'm very tired!

When I was coming home and I saw Keld and Petra going on their commuters to work. That was nice!, I thought. Then I saw Wayne also in his commuter on his way to work. It's getting better! What a beautiful day.

Then... the phone beeps, I got a message. OK, I thought, I'll check it when I get home. so I did. And Dan text me to come to the Turbo Tuesday. OMG!, I'm already dying after my hill repeats workout, but I said: "yes, of course, not a big deal". Who am I kidding? I'm already dying but I was excited with the idea to be riding with "the big boys and girls".

Anyway... I took my recovery drink hoping to get better. But I couldn't concentrate at work all day, I was very excited about this Turbo Tuesday.

4 o'clock - is my brand new kit ready? yes, it is

4:30 - is my bike ok? yes, I just put oil on the chain, it should be ok

5 o'clock - what time is the ride, again? ah!, until 7, I still have time

6 o'clock - c'mon this it taking forever

6:45 - time to go! So, I went.

During the announcement from Dan, I clipped my shoe and I almost fell! - Thanks Bruce for holding me :-)

 - OMG!, who invited this guy?

 - The newbie doesn't even know how to balance on the bike!!!

 - Is this the same guy who broke the gate in Unionville?

Let's go! Very excited, so far so good, I was feeling really strong but still a bit nervous. I kept sucking wheel - of course, I'm not pulling at these speeds!, not today! ;-)

Anyway, we get to the loop and we started, it was just the second lap and I got dropped! so I had to do my own pulls all the time, but having fun and trying to practice my cornering.

In the way back I was a bit tired but I kept the pace... that is until the McCowan hill.... that's when I bonked... :-(

Of course they waited for me, but I was dying but still very excited.

Thank you guys for putting up with me, I really appreciate it

Overall, it was AWESOME!

I'm guessing with an IF of 0.935 on your second workout of the day you've earned yourself a heck of a rest day.  Great times tonight!

Surprisingly, this ride felt easier, maybe the excitement. I just ran out of juice at the end

Great article Marco. Loved the part about the anticipation leading up to the actual ride.

I saw on Strava you did your Beechwood repeats in the morning, which can be brutal enough, but to add Turbo Tuesday to the mix is almost masochistic!

Well done, and looking forward to hearing more about your experiences.
