For those interested in participating vicariously, check into www.ironmanlive.com and dial up the results of Ironman Lousiville. Patryk Biegalski, Jodie Ferneyhough, and Dave Shedd all hit the start line this morning at 7 am. Congrats to all 3 for making it to the line, as training for ironman is probably as hard or harder than competing in ironman when all of the fans are out cheering you to the finish line. Having said that, it looks like louisville was not a wetsuit race (water was too warm) so that can send some fear into the minds of some competitors who rely on the wetsuit for floatation. The weather was sunny and 70 to start with a high of 85 expected.
Patryk came out of the water in 1:02:37, the bike was a tidy 5:28:46 and he is currently maintaining a 9 minute mile pace on the run through 13 miles
Jodie exited the water in 1:11:21, putting him 67th in his age group, put up a nice bike of 5:45:07 which advanced him 17 spots and is now in 42nd in his age group as he puts up 8:40 miles for the first 9 miles.
Dave came out of the 2.4 mile swim in 1:23:25, has come in off the bike in 6:26:32 - very nicely done and is now out on the run course and is in the top half of his age group!!
Go boys go, I am looking forward to the race reports!!!! Sorry if i missed anybody else racing IM Louisville or Canada today.
