Rocked the Rattlesnake, Race Update: All Racers Safe and Sound!

Did Everyone have a good Ride?
THE PICS:

Glad to see everyone met up like planned! Nice to have things work out. Rob(Trish's Husband) and I drove to Burlington and Rode back to Marie Curtis for the Start. He had no idea what he was in for, let alone 120kms! Congrats for sticking it out and persevering! Glad to see our friends race in less than desirable conditions. Great effort and commitment. Michele, SS, 2K, Rob, "Mr. Nice Guy" went to spectate along with Kevin(where did you go?).

Many thanks from the Racers for the support of BCC'ers that came out to cheer them on. Enjoy the Pics, and well Video, of Course!

a huge thanks to all who made the detour to come out and watch us race the provincials. This was a hairy day although probably much better behaved than most. I will put up a blog of my experience from the very back of the pack, the very back!!! Once again thanks for the cheers, I am glad the snake ride was another success

Lots of fun today and SO glad to hear that all our racers are safe and sound - can't tell you how nerve wracking it was to watch you come around that corner! Way to represent everyone and thanks to all for an awesome day out!

Hey BCC crowd! It was great to see how many of you came out to the race... in the pouring rain! I mean I was starting to think that my time might be better spent finding two of each kind of animal and building a big boat! After that sketchy corner, it was soothing to hear some familiar voices cheer! Thanks sooo much. See ya out there!

Andrew
PS Quentin, James, Mark, Emile and Peter: great, fun and safe day out there, cheers!

So, Reading all these posts has moved me to write back. When I decided to start the BCC, I made it clear that the goal was to network cyclists and to create and environment where one could learn from his/her fellow friend. I thing today's race and show of BCC'er Support was/is what BCC stands for, regardless of Team or Racing Kit. It is a common understanding for the sport, it's difficulty, and a level of respect for fellow riders that we ride with on a regular basis on our group rides! Thanks to all the Racers for hanging in there and providing us with inspiration to keep trucking and set goals for the next level. Your show of appreciation creates a strong sense of club solidarity that is hard to break.

I must say, we had a lot of people considering to watch the race at the Milton Coffee shop. And as we were waiting out the Lightning and Thunder, the thought did cross out minds to leave and head home. When we saw the cop car and the First Bunch of Racers(Marc and Demetre) ride by, we were hooked! Staying 4 laps+ to watch and cheer you all on! Also to make sure you all made it through the slick/sketchy corner! I forgot who's idea it initially was to watch the race but I designed the route to get us there and thanks again to Kerri, Jonathan, Michele, Kevin, Rob, and Steve for making my ride fun!

Cheers,

Dan.

Got alot of living done on July 26th.

Guess waking up at 3:45, driving to Timmies to start a ride at 5:00am will do that. But just getting up early is not enough to provide a day so rich in perfect moments which are far too many to blog about. Would like to blog but am at serious risk of being mushy so I will surrender with a Thanks BCC.

Oh, special thanks to Lana and her friend Alyssa for moving the pylon Markers to provide a lane way for the riders! The Police also express their thanks to the BCC'ers and the girls for helping in the intersection and traffic calming. There were over 7 crashes on that corner and times where cars were not aware of the fallen rider.

Once again, glad you are all safe!

I would like to add my voice to the chorus. A big thank-you to everyone who made their way out to Aldershot and cheered us on! I heard my name called out during the race and it felt great, although I was too focused to make out where it was coming from. It's funny, it didn't feel scary racing in those conditions. I really enjoyed it.
Echoing Emile, perspective is everything!
