Well, for a day that looked ominous from the start it couldn't have turned out better. Bill, Frank, Steve, Howard, Chris and myself started off as the rabbits and we seemed to play the role to a tee. After we got warmed up (Gerard and Vic park!!) we begun the process of taking it up a notch. We devoured a rider on the Kingston road incline to danforth and the pace quickened. With few red lights we decided to skip the guild and head straight to Lawrence. The pace was now running 17 min 10k segments, or about 35k/h. We had some very good tight rotations of our double pace line which kept the speed up. As we climbed to Altona, Chris felt the pace was getting a little too high and decided to let the group go. We continued as 5' making strong pulls with short rotations. We made it to love of Jo's by 9:30, time for a quick coffee and do it again.
The return was into a headwind but we seemed to be able to maintain pace. Of course once back to the city our pace dropped significantly with the stop and go.
My stats for the ride were: 33.1km/h avg speed; 64.4 top speed, 232w avg
Thanks boys for a fast, safe ride
