We had about 8 riders leave from Grinder @ 6AM, and 12 meeting at Elgin and Leslie. The 6am Group made it to us by 7AM. They booked it!
2-3 groups split heading north to Simcoe. Some route alterations later, and we all convened at the variety store on the lake. We all had a quick recharge and nature break and our group started to head back.
We ended up heading out in our respective groups. After some road resurfacing on McCowan, we managed to transfer along Vivian and head down Kennedy. At the top of the first big hill, Andrew M got a flat and Neil had some piston issues. Neil was worried he had blown the piston in his engine but when we finished the flat, he seemed to get it working, as the fast group was racing up to the top of the hill and approaching us. I called out the hill sprint finish.."First one to the top Gets a Pint!". I think it was Bob T and Alex S. that duked it out with Bob winning. They waited as they were all feeling the 160kms in their legs. We started again as a group and kept it together till the Elgin Turn-off when a few of us were really spent. Oh, and my car's alternator decided to stop working on the 404 just south of Steeles - that explains the later pics in the album. All in all, a safe ride.
