Kerri, Steve, Alex, Jody, Mohamed and I made it out for another evening ride.

Up to the secret criterium loop for a few laps then back.

Welcome to Jody, and Mohamed out for their first Tuesday rides.

Awesome that the sun sets so late, we really didn't need the lights until coming back along Kingston Rd.

We rode easy to Kingston Rd, then the pace picked up on the uphill beside Variety Village and didn't slow. (except for the occasional red light).  As advertised we rode hard, fast and sometimes furious!   Speedy loops of the crit course, good pace home and the sprint along Danforth, that's what we're talking about!

It would be great to get a large number of us out to the crit course,  This is quiet, smooth industrial road with no stop signs.  We could ride as a bunch for a few neutral laps, then try a few fast and repeat.  I think it would be a great experience for everyone.  If enough came out we could split into a few groups of similar ability. Just a thought.

Great ride guys - thanks.  Always look forward to these outings.  Agreed on a larger group for this crit course Jeff.  Had a lot of fun last year when we did the pursuit and team exercises.

So the group was chasing me down on that uphill section heading up to Cliffside Dr. I thought so! I was climbing that hill at 35km/h and you were still gaining on me (quickly, too)! :) Wish I could have joined you last night. Very glad to hear it was a great ride.

Thanks for posting Jeff. You are correct that more could and should try this ride. The pace to and from the crit can be moderated. It will never be slow but it can be slower than the usual Tuesday night hammerfest as the crit part allows for those that want and need a strong interval type work out, to get as much and go as hard as they wish. For those of us that do not race it is the perfect chance to practice with others in a very safe way. Thanks again for your coaching Jeff. Think most of us are sponges wanting to learn more. You are a great at coaching and your tips are appreciated. Was hot last night and after a brisk ride north only four or five laps were required satisfy followed by another brisk return home. Think we managed a 32 average. A fast short ride is a nice change sometimes from the long stuff and allows for time for a beer and food afterwards!

See you next week I hope for some more of the same.

Paul, we did see you!  You know how it goes, got a rabbit to chase and the hounds will go.  I think it was a favourable wind that helped, 'cause that was the fastest I have ever gone up that hill!

Thanks for being the rabbit.

Kids are at camp the last week of July - run the Scarborough Crit on Tuesday, July 26 and there's a very good chance I will join you (I won't have to get up early the next day to make lunches!)

Happy to be the catalyst for a good Tuesday night. :)  I'm with Peter for running the Scarlem Crit again on July 26th. I'll make sure I get off work early that day to make it occur. Be great if we got a big turnout.
