SUNDAY JULY 20TH 2014 - LAKE SIMCOE - ROUND 2/Rapha Women's 100 - Post Ride Report

Hey guys I just want to say what an awesome ride it was today. It's such a great route and the people we get to ride with;awesome.

To those who didn't/couldn't make it out, you definitely missed a good one. The pace was great 31.6 on the way to Simcoe and somehow on the way back I got myself hooked up with the fast group. I figured well I'm here, I might as well push the envelope and see if I could keep up with them. Special thanks to Charles, Steve J and Brendan(I know he's Auzi, but he rides like a Tasmanian Devil)for letting me wheel suck all the way home, hey at least I did my best to kept up. Well maybe I slowed them down a bit near the end as I started to die a bit going over the last few hills, although it seemed like we took every hill we could on the way back ;) In the end our average increased to 32.3 by the time we returned.

I'm sure we'll arrange another Simcoe tour and more BCC'rs will have to join in on the fun!

I know the separate Raphael Ladies Ride went well too. They even had time to stop and mock the will be posted if they're not already on Instagram...

I'm very lucky to be a part of such an amazing club; you guys all rock! Special thanks to Dan and Lana for helping to organizing this day.

Extra kudos to Dan for spending 6+ hours of his day off to not only shuttle people to and from the start he was also driving back and forth between groups to help protect us during the ride. At the start of the ride he was there to help block traffic in the foggy areas when it was difficult for cars to see us. In our group Bob got a flat 20 minutes into the ride and Dan came by with hand handy wipes, or else Bobs shorts would have been completely black in the end with legible BCC insignia. He was motor pacing different groups so they test their top speed capabilities. Lastly, I think the ladies appreciated him being around as well.

Dan you definitely deserve more praise for being the great El Capitan that you are of such a motley Crüe like us!!

It is fun when you can keep up with the pace, not when you are at 185 bpm like me :-(

I need more training, no excuses

Glad to hear that you had fun

I love the "peeing picture" it is hilarious

Some day soon I am going to open a bike cafe in the city. And after a long day on the bike in the wet, for a very modest price, this bike cafe will offer a clean and detail service for your bike, all done while you wait and enjoying a cold pint of beer. I am going to be rich.

Steve, I think you are onto something!

Another good day on the bike! Fun times. Steve, agreed, 2+ hours of washing and another hour to rebuild my PowerTap, ugh...
