It was 5:30am & I was on the Gardiner, on my way to Marie Curtis and it started to rain.  As I approached the exit, Evan texted me to let me know that it was also pouring in the Beach.  We decided together that it was unsafe promote a "Formal Sunday Ride", so I canceled the ride at 5:59am.  I figured that anyone else would have decided that they wouldn't ride in the pouring rain.  As I started to drive back towards the beach in the heavy rain, I got a text from Steve J. saying that he and Andre were at Marie Curtis.  By the time I arrived at Tim's in the beach, Jeff N, Peter C, Charles, Brian, and Lauri were there.  We all looked at each other and Peter said that if he got up at 4am, he wasn't going to go back to bed.  So we all decided as a "group" to head out and ride regardless of the weather.  I texted Steve to let him know to start and we would be on our way.  Seconds later, Steve let me know that both Andre and himself decided to head back home.

So it was Evan, Peter C., Charles, Brian B., Jeff N., Lauri, and myself on the road.   The weather seemed to clear up and held off until we got to Burnhamthorpe/Trafalger.  It started to really come down.  Lauri and I short turned to head back as I had to get back by 10:30am.  From the time we split with the group, till we got back to Parklawn and Lakeshore -the rain did not let up(see pics).  Anyways, back at home 100kms later.    Boyz, how was Rattlesnake?

Till next week... lets hope for better weather.

Holy-freakin'-rain photos!!! Did you guys actually ride through that monster-puddle? Cool. I'm glad that you took those photos - it justifies my wimpy pansy-ass decision to go right back to bed for another much-needed 4 hours of sleep!

Knowing you guys, though, I'll bet that you had a fun adventure nonetheless! Good on 'ya, you crazy nutbars!

Snake Slayed in spite of ride cancellation, diversion to avoid road closures, and mother nature conspiring against us!  Another one for the record books and it goes to show that a little rain can't hold us back!
