Paul and I had discussed trying to get new riders to the Tuesday Night rides. We wanted to create an open invite for those that were unsure if they can handle the ride and if they could keep up(Min Riding Speed of 30kph). Tonight was the first night we opened it up and agreed on the ride format ahead of time. Welcome Andrea and Jason. I think our average for the ride was 30kph+ that's in the city folks, with lights. All I know is when I looked at my Garmin, we were going 35-45kph. We held a steady effort up towards the crit and when we got there, allowed for 1 warm-up lap and then a bunch of "hot" laps. Great part about this set up is if you get dropped you can just wait for the group to come along and try again to hang on for dear life. All in all a great experience for acceleration, bike handling, and knowing your limits.
Final danforth Sprint consisted of Andrew M and Steve J leading it out(surprise, surprise)...I just sat in for the first time ever and Jrdo was behind me. After the light, I launched and so did Jrdo. Because Jrdo is my friend I let him pass me:-). "Its the BIke!!!" Anyways, till next week.... Oh, Alex: don't forget the right turns:-) Paul, thanks again for taking a back seat on the ride and helping to keep everyone together - for paying it forward.
