We LOVE You KELD! Get Well soon!

Hey all,

Ok so I saw Simon's Instagram this morning that the boys were going to do a 200Km day to Collingwood and I thought AWESOME!

I was surprised to get a message from an old friend Matt Wallis who is now a fire fighter with a picture of a busted up bike.  Pic Matt sent me from the fire truck(Above)

Turns out on their way up, the small group of guys had a run in with a car making a left out to go southbound as they were headed north.  Robin and Simon jammed on the brakes and so did Keld, but he wasn't so lucky as he hit the back of the car and got catapulted and landed on his knee.  Fire and Ambulance were there within 5 mins and Simon made a call to Sunnybrook to an Orthropedic surgeon friend of his to give him a heads up on Keld's situation.  Needless to say his bike is not functional(Keld's Bike at the Fire Hall  - below)

I wanted to post this to let everyone know as I am sure if you have met or ridden with Keld and his wife Petra they are some of the nicest people around!  This is such and unfortunate event.  So I wanted to support Keld in this time and help him in his recovery with the support of the club.  BCC is one big family!

Petra will get in touch me me and keep me abreast of his progress and I will let you all know.

Oh, and of course in the Keld's style, he's like "You guys better not turn back!"

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Dan.

I saw the pics on Instagram and was shocked.  Glad to hear that surgery went well and mending is on the way.  I have gone through the whole getting the bike replaced through driver's insurance, so if you want to chat, let me know.  I would say, document everything and don't use your own insurance.  For the injuries and loss of employment time, you will definitely need a lawyer.  Patrick Brown (http://www.mcleishorlando.com/lawyers/patrick-brown/)   More info here:  http://www.ibiketo.ca/Guide/How-to%27s/how-make-claim-damaged-bicyc...

Process does take awhile, so might give you a project to work on while you're healing up!  Hope you feel better soon.

Joe I'd have to agree with that nurse !!! Might hide the comment from Keld ... His head has to fit in that helmet again !!! :). Harris thanks for the heads up ... We've been thinking something similar as it's clear insurance will not cover our losses ... Criminal really when you consider what it's done to Keld physically. We'll definitely call you!

He had a good day today. Appetite is close to being back to normal and he was awake a lot more today, even firing off some work proposals. He is still not very mobile but I'm sure with each day the strength will come. He's in little pain unless his foot (or Someone moving his foot like me) does it wrong. :).

Ride safe everyone , it still freaks me out to think how lucky he was to have not been more injured!!!

Thanks for the continuing love and support !!!

Wow, that sucks.   Hey Keld, hope the recovery goes well, I bet if you do the physio, you'll come back stronger!

Hey Keld, just read this post today. That truly sucks man, and terrible that this has happened. Hope to see you and Petra out again very soon, really love riding with you guys as you're both excellent riders and great company - all the best for a full recovery!

Hey Petra/Keld,

We haven't had an update in a while, how's BCC's $6 million dollar man doing?
