Well, some of us started at Marie Curtis at 6:30, some of us began at Leslie & Lakeshore at 6:30, and one of us (Steve W.) even started at Leslie & Lakeshore at 5:30! Actually, I think Dave O. started out there too.

Our MC Park group was about 14 strong. Lets see who I can remember: Steve W., Dave O., Nick B., Brian M., Evan, Megan, Terry, Nick, Wayne, Brian W., a fellow I've never met wearing Enbridge jersey, Jason, Alexx and yours truly. Terry had a bit of a mechanical as we climbed Mississauga Road past UTM. Was a good thing we stopped, as it allowed me to get a not very good photo of some of the six deer we saw wandering around the campus right by the road. We lost Dave O. at Trafalgar where he turned back. (Probably couldn't handle the pace. Cha. Right.) The rest of us had a nice, uneventful ride out to the big climb. It went so well we went 'round and did it again before heading over to Coffee Culture, where I was high-fived (no really, I was!) by an incredulous server there, who couldn't believe we'd come all the way from Toronto, only to climb Rattlesnake a couple of times and head back home. She did, however, believe I deserved both the double espresso and toffee blondie I ordered. I did too.

Anyway, as we were about to head out, the guys starting at L&L showed up. We exchanged pleasantries, took a pic for proof, and headed back, with everyone, and now Mohammed too, in tow. A while after turning onto Britannia, we wondered where the heck Megan, Evan and Brian W. were. Later on, Jason busted a spoke, so we left him behind. No, just kidding, we limped along our way. Upon our return to Marie Curtis, why there were Megan, Evan and Brian. Turns out Megan had managed a mechanical too, but they altered their route (and probably booked it) so we never saw them until the finish.

The end.

Anyone else got anything to add?

Another great BCC ride - the leslie / lakeshore bunch about 15 of us did battle with the stop lights to get across the city.  Alex's suggestions for route changes took us along CollegeWay from Mississauga rd, which was great, and then down into a pathway at the end of Neyagawa.  This was a cool little road, 4th line? but caused some grief on a wooden bridge.  Steve J slid out at low speed and escaped with a small scrape, but 50m later flatted.  So maybe not Steve's favorite section.  Regroup and over to the Snake for some slaying!  The speedier ones took off up the climb, I did my slow steady, and Kevin on his first attempt fought the good fight on his first time up.   "that hill is steep"  and " should have taken it easier coming up to the bottom"

Caught the MC group at coffee, a short break for us and more Alex suggestions for fun.  We decided to climb back up to the top of Rattlesnake by going up SR14 (the road that we descended to get to Milton) then turn N on Applebee, down the North side (woo hoo) for an awesome descent, left on Campbellville rd and found our way thru the rolly terrain until the big descent on Guelph Line into Burlington, to get the 12:10 train home.

I like the GO train home, gives us more time on the country roads, and lets us avoid midday traffic in the city.

Loved Jim's comment about 3/4 thru the ride "my legs are cooked",  I felt good about that 'cause now I knew the others were probably feeling some pain too, I know I was!   Not a misery loves company thing, just nice to know that I wasn't the only one feeling the effort. :-)

Stats -  1 slip, 1 flat, 1 broken spoke, 1 lost tubular, 1 found tubular, 1 broken seat post?, about 120k for me, speed 30.5kph average.
