Windy Sunday, sunshine makes up for tough conditions

For those who made it out to another chilly ride you will know the wind continues to make the speeds of these rides look very tame yet the riders certainly know that we are working hard.  Many thanks to James for keeping me company on the brimley road repeats and lending me his mitts for the wind biting descents i joined alex, patryk, jodie, dru, peter and jim for the ride up to goodwood. What a great crew. While we had one mechanical in what was otherwise a very strong pull north by all of us. with the sun shining the day ended up being terrific despite coming home to windburn on my face. I can only hope that when i start ATOC in two weeks time that the group works as well together.

My stats; avg speed 29.2 ( incl brimley); max speed 65.8; avg watts 256; 975m of climbing

Thanks for posting that, QB. Pretty impressive stats! When we left the house this morning, the weather network said that the wind was only 8km/hr... LIARS! Was it ever windy! Great turnout today. How were all the various rides? QB, yours sounded fantastic.

Our group was working together beautifully along Kingston Rd. We took turns pulling, and the double paceline was working well. When we turned north, things started falling apart a bit. The group broke up, and with the wind, people had a tough time catching back on. We had picked up a few new riders who had come out on their first BCC ride. They soldiered along well, but with the wind and distance, I fear that they didn't have the best first experience with the club. With the groups so spread out, it was tough fighting the wind. Thanks to Nick, Paul, Jason and Scott C. for pulling us north in the wind. Nick, you sacrificed your coffee break to stick with us. Thanks for the company. The rest of us made it to the coffee shop, and the ride home was downright fun with the wind (mostly) at our backs. Big thanks to Jake, Scott, and Paul for pulling us most of the way home. Fantastic company in our group today. Hope everyone is feeling good, and fingers crossed for less wind next week! Brooke, Maureen and Mel - strong riding today! Fantastic!

Rob gave me the best compliment today - he said "No offense, Alexx, but drafting behind Scott Cuthberson is way better than drafting behind you..." Rob, you sure know what to say to the ladies! Thanks!

Hey, yeah! Great ride! Sorry Alex for not pointing out that pothole in time... Great company on the ride, nice tight group. And thanks to Jason for the dried fruit "twig and berries". I think that's what you have to call 'em to attract the "right clientele". LOL
